Chronology of Man
According to Scripture

Thanks first to the Lord for putting
this into my heart.
Second, to my wife who continually
helps and supports me, Gal. 2:18 & Pro. 31.

I was hesitant to attempt this study let alone put
it into a book form. Part of me said it was prideful of me to write this
assuming I could share a “new” thing, another part thought, “And who am I to speak
on the Lord’s behalf?” I am writing this not to prove I am correct and everyone
is wrong, but to challenge you to think how we got to this point in time and
how many wonderful gems are in Scripture. I am a follower of Jesus the Christ,
and since I have the Holy Spirit and a deep desire for the truth, He has guided
me to do this work.
I saw a great movie about a bible professor that
wanted to write a book. He never neglected the importance of a moral, but did
not see the importance of including the Author, Jesus Christ, as the Authority,
by which he spoke. Because of that, a colleague wanted to show him the consequence
of this decision and the impact of teaching only morals. He sent the bible
professor 100 years into the future. He was amazed not of the advancement of
technology, but in how bored the church was, how acceptable sin had become,
even to the point it was illegal to speak the Name of Jesus in a public school.
That’s when I understood what I knew to already be
true, that Jesus nor His word would require anyone to defend Them, but to speak
only the truth. Therefore, the question is the same now as it was for Pilot, in
John 18:38, “What is truth?” Do we hold scripture as truth? When you read that
there is “…therefore now no condemnation
to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the
Spirit,” do you believe it? When we tell our kids they should not steal or that
they should not lie, by whose Authority do we speak?
If you do not state the Author, then the words are meaningless. Why? Because if we are shown that
there is an Authority, therefore we are held accountable. This is the very
reason why people so blindly accept evolution over scripture. Because, if
scripture says that there was a beginning, and the words are true, then the
rest of scripture is true and therefore, we are dead in our sins, condemned,
and there is NOTHING we can do about it. No one
likes to be told the truth who has conviction in their
heart, so if the Truth is removed, then there is no conviction to acknowledge,
“…having their conscience seared with a hot iron...”
Life changes all around us continually; yet, because
we are a part of it, we tend not to notice. Leave for a year and come back and you
will see all the changes. This is true of sin as well. A “little” sin isn’t
noticed so much, and if it is not challenged, then sooner or later, more slips
in until you find yourself in a quagmire of unexplainable apathy. Psalms 139:23-24 cries out, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me,
and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked
way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” So subtle is sin, we
require the Lord to point it out to us. Are you willing to listen? Are you
willing to stand up against it? I’m certain you said,
“Yes”, but when you witness sin, do you do anything about it? If a coworker
uses the Lord’s Name in vain, do you say anything to them or are you quiet
about it? What about that movie you watched last weekend that contained a
murder scene, a risqué peak into a bedroom, or unbridled foul language; do you
turn it off? It may seem I’m pointing fingers, but
these issues are concerns I have to deal with myself. No one is immune to sin;
we are commanded not to be slaves to sin. Edmund Burke
is credited for writing, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” It is irrelevant whether he wrote
this or not, the words echo truth. If you do nothing, sin will abound.
So again, I ask, do you hold Scripture as true when it
contradicts history books, over what you learned in school, or even what you
see, or hear, or even what you comprehend as truth? On what basis do you hold
your understanding to be true? A case in point: Wikipedia, although popular,
many people won't use it as a source because anyone
can say anything, so by default the information is automatically suspect. As
the movie stated, scripture is accurate, but when science contradicts
scripture, the science is flawed. The Lord planted that in my heart many years
ago and I still believe it today.
II Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That
the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished
unto all good works.”
Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast
rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to
me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy
children.”
II Corinthians 4:3-6 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the
god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the
light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine
unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and
ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to
shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the
knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
Revelation 3:18 “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do
not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”
Jesus brought truth and
grace and fulfilled the law in the flesh.
John 1:17 "For the
law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."
Romans 8:3-4 "For
what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending
his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the
flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
None of us can do that. As
we were prisoners of the Law, Jesus made us prisoners of Righteousness. We are transformed from the enemy of God to the sons of God
through Jesus. This is reiterated in the event of the
Mount of Transfiguration.
Matthew 17:1-8 "And
after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John
his brother, and bringeth them up into an high
mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the
sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And,
behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. Then
answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if
thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for
thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. While he yet spake,
behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud,
which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well
pleased; hear ye him. And when the disciples heard it,
they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. And
Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. And when they
had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only."
Just in the name of those
that attend is a great revelation:
Peter means Stone
(the Law); James comes from Jacob which means the supplanter,
i.e. replaces; and John means favored of God - grace. Just by
their names, you can see the mission of the Lord here on earth:
Salvation
comes by taking the law and replacing it with grace.
Peter,
being so fearful, tried to honor the event by wanting to erect a monument to
Moses, Jesus and Elijah. The
problem was so severe that God the Father Himself spoke; affirming that Jesus
was His Beloved and they were to listen to Him. Peter tried to lower Jesus and
elevate the Law and the Prophets making them equal. But,
Jesus came to fulfill the Law because the Law kills. Jesus gave the Law to Moses to show that man
cannot keep the Law, even if they so wish to. So why would the Lord give an
impossible law? The single most hated thing is self-righteousness.
Isaiah 64:6 “But we are
all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses
are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the
wind, have taken us away.”
“Filthy rags” in the Hebrew
is menstrual rags. That’s how gross
self-righteousness is in the eyes of God. In Exodus 19, Moses was called up to receive the Law verbally so he could
rehearse it in the ears of Israel in Exodus 20. This is what they said:
Exodus 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said,
All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the
people unto the LORD.”
Again the Lord asked if Israel
would keep His Law, and they replied:
Exodus 24:3 “And Moses
came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and
all the people answered with one voice, and said, All
the words which the LORD hath said will we do.”
Pride, arrogance,
ignorance and self-righteousness reverberated throughout the camp, and they
accepted God’s challenge instead of humbling themselves and asked for mercy.
From the first Passover to Sinai, not one Israeli died even though all they did
was murmur against Moses and God. As soon as they accepted the Law, Moses went
up to get the tablets. While he tarried, they broke the first commandment –
Exodus 20:2-6 “I am the
LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the
house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou
shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth
beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down
thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and
fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing
mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.”
Exodus 32:4 “And he
received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had
made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy
gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.”
As soon as the Law was given, they
sinned, and three thousand died! God showed their self-righteousness wasn’t enough and they died in their sins.
Knowing that not all are
like those that left Egypt, the Lord would send His prophets that gave hope of
another way. What is the thing that the devil and man succeeded in doing with
the Law? Cheapen it and hold man hostage through condemnation and guilt. Even
Christians today are filled with this same mentality as the Pharisees – knowing full well that no one can keep the Law, the
Pharisees watered it down to a bunch of legalistic rituals. Where preachers are
to teach grace, they teach “don’t do this” “don’t do that” “love God” – all
impossibilities because it’s the Law repackaged for
today’s legalistic rituals. Jesus came to change all that!
What was the first thing
Jesus said after the Father said to listen to Him? "Arise, and be not
afraid!"
The Pharisees cheapened
the Law by making it "manageable" for man to think righteousness was
obtainable. But under the Law, the judgment exceeds
the sacrifice as is illustrated when Elijah fought with the prophets of Ba'al in I Kings 18. He had water poured onto the
sacrifice. When God responded, not only was the sacrifice consumed, but the wood, stone alter, water and even the dust. When
Jesus taught the Law this is what He said:
Matthew 5:27-29 "Ye
have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit
adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed
adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye
offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable
for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body
should be cast into hell."
Jesus restored the
impossibility of keeping the Law back to its original intent. God never wanted
the Israelites to accept the Law. From Abraham to Mount Sinai they lived under
grace! No one died despite their murmurings and
complaints. Yet, as soon as they arrogantly said they could keep the Law, they
built an idol of gold and worshiped it. Three thousand died that day. Yet,
after the death, burial and resurrection of the Lamb (Jesus Christ), fifty days
later, on the same day Israel received the Law, the day of Pentecost, they
received the Holy Spirit and three thousand were saved.
Acts 2:41 “Then they that
gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto
them about three thousand souls.”
Where the Law, written on
stone, revived sin which kills us, God calls it the
ministry of death.
II Corinthians 3:6-11 "Who
also hath made us able ministers of the new testament;
not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth,
but the spirit giveth life. But
if the ministration of death, written and engraven in
stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his
countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of
the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be
glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For
even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that
which remaineth is glorious."
The only thing written in
stone was the Law - the Ten Commandments. If we could keep the Law, then why
did Jesus have to come! Since this was one of my biggest issues with this
correct thinking, I'm going to address the following:
Romans 8:1-2 "There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law
of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and
death."
Prosperity preachers stop
quoting this verse after they say "Christ Jesus", but the Spirit put
it in there. I've even heard some say the next part of
the verse was added by legalists. Yet, I contend that we are not the ones
walking after Salvation, but the Spirit, therefore there is no condemnation which are in Christ Jesus. The Spirit wouldn't qualify that else we're back to the Law: do good
get good; do bad get bad. Is it not the Spirit that quickens
us?
Ephesians 2:5-7 "Even
when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye
are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made
us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he
might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his
kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."
Since we're
dead, how can we be subject to sin?
Romans 6:1-2 "What
shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.
How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"
Understand God loves us
personally, that we are dead to sin, and quickened to the life in Christ Jesus,
there IS no more condemnation. There's no
condition. We walk simply in faith just as we are saved
by faith. Do you not understand that we are sheep and prisoners? What do they
have in common? They both must be taken care of. The
means to DO is not within them. They follow the Shepherd or the Warden.
Romans 4:13-16 "For
the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to
his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and
the promise made of none effect: Because the law worketh
wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise
might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to
that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,"
This is a truth: if we
are heirs of the world, now can we do that sickly or poor? It's
the devil that steals these promises. If you don't
believe that kind of thinking, then read this verse:
I John 4:17 "Herein
is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day
of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world."
"...because as he
is, so are we in this world"! This isn't a future
promise, but one of His grace on us NOW, HERE on earth! Hallelujah! Glory to God! I have finally come to the understanding of
what Paul meant in Romans seven. I wish to paraphrase
first before you read the longest scripture reference of this study. The Law is
righteous. But it demands righteousness from us. We don’t have it, so our punishment is death. Any offence, no
matter the size, carries a minimum sentence of death! God in His love says,
“Though the Law is right, there is no love.” Paul shows the war within each
Christian: those things I don’t want to do, I do them,
sin. The things I want to do, I don’t do them, do
right. I know you’ve heard some preacher say “Love the
Lord your God with all your heart mind and soul.” He was quoting Jesus. I can’t
love myself that way, how can I possibly live that way towards someone I can’t
see or feel or grasp!? Face it,
Jesus was only elevating the Law back to its proper place – an impossibility.
Yet over and over Christians become slaves to a lie
that somehow if only they did this or did that they could obtain this status.
If you can’t do anything to get saved, what makes you
think you can do anything to live a saved life? It’s
all self-righteousness and it stinks on high! The sentence Paul says
shows the condition these preachers are suffering from and pass it on to their
flocks: “I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with
me.” And he clarifies it even one step more: “I see
another law…warring against the law of my mind…bringing me into captivity
to the law of sin…” Today we wake up,
thank the Lord, praise Him, sing to Him in the shower, kiss the family good
bye, and off to work we go. On the way to work some
guy cuts you off almost causing an accident and out vomits angry profanity. All
the joy you had earlier is swallowed up with a little whisper – not necessarily
from the devil – but the Law within, taught in church, understood by misreading
scriptures – whatever the case, you’re now devastated. You feel like a
hypocrite, a phony. This is the war Paul is explaining.
He finally cries out “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the
body of this death?” Thankfully he answers his own
question and ends this internal war – even after reading it, I couldn’t
understand exactly what to DO.
“I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then
with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with
the flesh the law of sin.”
It boils down to one thing: right thinking, which leads to right doing.
You know the Law – or at least what your parents or pastors teach: don’t do this, don’t do that. What is it you want to do? Those things you’re told not to do. Why? That’s the sin within. When we’re saved, sin is not remove from our bodies, only the freedom from sin. I know, that doesn’t make sense. But it does. You see, Jesus lived in the flesh the lives He knows we cannot live in. We’re born into sin – it’s like trying to live without a heart. It cannot be done. Jesus, Who knew no sin, lived a life just like us, but without sin, and in the flesh won this conflicting war. Then He gave up His sinless life to become sin for us on the cross. He took our sin and we took His righteousness. Stop thinking of sin as a verb and see if for what it is, a noun. If you understand that when you call on the Name of Jesus to save you, you are no longer under the Law of sin!
I once had a debt of over $110,000 in credit cards and a
mortgage of over $200,000. I only made $75,000 per year and had three growing
kids. There was no hope for me. I prayed, surrendered the cards (I shredded
them) and lived within the extreme limits of my salary – which to some was
awesome. Even still, it’d be the rest of my life
before I could get out of debt. Nothing I did would work. But!!!
God heard me, blessed me, and now I have no debt and more funds than I need so
I use it to help others. Do I ever want to go back into debt with all the
pressures and worries that come with it? No way! My
right thinking NOW keeps me from falling back into debt. When you believe you
must “do” to be holy, you’ll only fall deeper into sin
debt. Then because you are conscience of your deeds, you condemn yourself. Then
because you feel so bad, you only want relief, so you take some false “joy” in
sin (name your vice here – food, drugs, shopping, porn, etc.) and the cycle
repeats. When you take hold of the thought that you are free from sin (though
it still resides in your mortal body, that “old” man) your spirit and soul are
free from sin, you focus on the wonderful gift the Lord has given you. Faith. Grace. More Faith. More Grace. That’s the correct
cycle. So do we sin so grace can fix us? NO! Why would I want to go back into
debt? When you sin, you repent – which means change your mind – and move on it was paid for before you were even born let alone the moment
you committed it. So now read:
Romans 7:14-25 “For we
know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold
under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I
would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I
would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then
it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me
(that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me;
but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I
do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now
if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in
me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For
I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my
members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to
the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall
deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our
Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of
God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”
God
does not want behavioral modification; He wants right thinking, so you can have
right living.
Introduction
I had never intended to undergo a project of this
size, being outside my comfort zone and what I thought was above my educational
level, but, as with erecting a huge building, you have to start with the
foundation. To me the foundation of anything spiritual had to be Jesus Christ
and the written Word of God He left for us over the span of Earth’s history.
But, I’m getting
ahead of myself. I, like many Christians, like reading about the second coming
of the Lord Jesus Christ. I bought a book about the end times and how Israel
became a nation exactly so many days after the order to rebuild the city as
prophesied by Daniel. Not one to let others do my homework; I decided to see if
such a thing existed in the Bible. At first I thought, “How hard could it be?”
Well let me tell you, I had to learn about the Jewish, the Roman, the Julian,
and the Gregorian calendars. Then learn how to convert from one to another.
Since I liked to program, I now had a project. The only algorithm I could find
on the rules for the Jewish calendar was written in
C++ code. I wasn’t very good with C++ but I did
understand Visual Basic, so I converted the code. After pouring over the code,
I found that they had an ingenious way of converting the dates, by using the
Serial Day Number – also known as the Julian Day Number, defined as noon
Universal Time (UT) Monday, January 1, 4713 BC in the Julian calendar. The date
given in Gregorian, Julian or Jewish would be converted to that day number.
That answer would then be translated into the desired calendar and then
reversed. If the final answer was correct, then the resulting conversion was
correct. Here’s an example:
Gregorian day (today’s calendar) of
August 10, 2008 is converted to 2454689.5 in the
Julian Day Number. That number is then converted from
2454689.5 to the Jewish calendar of Av 9, 5768 at noon. That date, Av 9, 5768, is then converted back to the Julian Day Number of
2454689.5. Next, it converts it from 2454689.5 to the Gregorian date of August
10, 2008. If this date matches the date entered, it is correct and “Av 9, 5768”
is presented. I put this on my web site at http://www.abdicate.net/cal.aspx.
The reason for doing it this way is to increase the
level of accuracy. If the calculations are incorrect,
they would show up by presenting different dates. In addition to the process
above, there is another step; it includes being converted
into the Julian calendar and back as well. This is like taking pounds and
changing it to kilograms and then to ounces and then to troy ounces and back to
pounds. Each step requires a different mathematical conversion increasing the
accuracy of the final product.
After working on it for a few months, I put in the
dates the book stated and the number of days since the call to rebuild the city
of Jerusalem and found that they were short an entire year by their standards
and the rest of the “history”
books. Well, I decided to find the date of the “…that from the
going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem…” (Daniel
9:25) I needed to do some more homework. This is where the foundation
thought came to mind. If I was going to undertake finding this date, I had to
put scripture above any history book. Did I truly believe II Timothy 3:16-17?
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of
God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works”?
It was then I decided that I would not eliminate any
verse just because it did not “fit” into my chronology.
Finally, I wrestled with God on this project mostly
because, who was I to dispute folks with PhD’s and other grandiose degrees when
all I had was a two-year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology?
Additionally, who was I to refute the tons of books out there on various
subjects about the bible. As if the Lord was answering me directly, this verse
popped into my mind:
I John 2:27 “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye
need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all
things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall
abide in him.”
So again,
which version of “scripture” do I use? I grew up and studied how the King James
Bible was translated and have chosen to stick with it.
Besides, I like the way it was translated, and clearly the Lord blessed it
because it is still the number one book sold to date with over 6 billion in
print throughout history (includes all English versions1).
I
want to point out that most people just accept information that is published or quoted by a source. This is how the United
States came to think of our fore fathers as oppressive rich white slave owning
deists. In the 1920’s many books were written concerning the birth of America
and none of them quoted original sources. As a direct result, the attacks on
these men, their very deep love for Jesus Christ and for the country, and
thereby attacks on the Constitution changed our legal system from rule of law
to rule of precedence and judicial law making. What does all this mean? We have
rejected God and His Word from anything public – schools, workplace, federal
lands and parks: all of which will be the undoing of America. The accepted norm
is now abortion, sex, its perversion, murder, lying and cheating2,
and pornography is one of the biggest industries making over $12 billion in
20063 and worth $56 billion worldwide4. America’s motto
is no longer “In God we Trust” (which is under attack in the courts as I type)
to “If it feels good, just do it!” I remember when I was just about to become a
teenager; I overheard my aunt speaking with her brothers and sisters that very
phrase. I didn’t understand it then, but I do now.
“Porn is being downloaded, ordered, rented and tuned in at
startling rates across America. And, with millions of
customers spending billions of dollars on pornography, corporate America is
starting to compete for a piece of that pie. In 1999 pornography
sales in the United States exceeded $10 billion -- a market so lucrative that
even blue-chip companies such as General Motors Corp. (GM) and AT&T Corp.
have jumped into the dirty game. These two Fortune 500 companies are piping
pornography by cable and satellite feeds into American homes, providing
distribution that porn producers require to increase their production of smut,
perversion and filth.”
Porn 500, Insight on the News, Jan 8, 2001 by James Harder4
There
is no end to the citations I can make. Don’t get me
wrong there are good God-fearing people in America – their prayers are the only
thing keeping God’s full wrath at bay. Nevertheless, unless we change as a
society we will go the way of the unicorn.
See
if these verses sound familiar in regards to today:
II Timothy
3:1-7 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times
shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural
affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of
those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than
lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from
such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead
captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning,
and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
How about these? It’s almost like
listening to the news or reading it online.
Romans 1:18-32
“For the wrath of God is revealed
from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the
truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in
them; for God hath shewed it
unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation
of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead;
so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they
glorified him not as God,
neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish
heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to
corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own
hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth
of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the
Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even
their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And
likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their
lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and
receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to
a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled
with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness;
full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters
of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to
parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection,
implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit
such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in
them that do them.”
Psalms 9:17 “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”
Jeremiah
13:25 “This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD;
because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.”
Now
I pray you see how very important it is to get the original source when
gathering information. Because they don’t know better,
concerning the English translated history books of old, they simply accept the
data when they speak of the Julian dates of AD/BC or the Greek Olympiads.
Though there is an accepted date conversion, I did not need them because I know
from Scripture all the points from Adam to Jesus' ascension with the authority
of Scripture. Since none of us since the 1750's experienced a change of the
calendar, it would appear to be easy enough to fix points in time to another
calendar. Yet, to complete accurately such a task, you must understand how the
conversion was made de facto. That is where you'll run into roadblocks more than anything else. Once you
find a source, you'll find another that says it's a
year or two different than the other source. Even published encyclopedias
cannot agree on dates. With all the technology we have today, it's harder than ever to find the original source. Once you
find it, how can you translate it into English from ancient Greek, Latin, or
Aramaic?
I
wanted to find the conversion of an Olympiad to the Roman Julian dating system.
I found a site that provided tables for the conversion. When I looked up their
sources, they pointed me to another site5. Below is a fragment
written in Greek translated into Latin and then into English.
519a. Diodori Sicili Bibliothecae Historicae, Lib.XX, Cap.V, 5
"th d i steraia thlikauthn ekleiyin hliou
sunebh genesqai, wste oloscerwV fanhnai nukta qewroumenwn twn asterwV pantacoi."
"[...] Agathocles etiam, quum jam ab hoste apprimeretur,
nocte superveniente, quod minime sperasset, evadit. Postridie tantum fit solis
eclipsis deliquum, ut stellis ubique apparentibus, omnio
noctis instar esset. Quamobrem a naumine difficultatem sibi
portendi Agathoclis milites rati, in majore super futuris anxietate
erant."
"[...] However, Agathocles, who was
already at the point of being overtaken and surrounded, gained unhoped for
safety as night closed in. On the next day there
occurred such an eclipse of the sun that stars appeared everywhere, it was like
at a complete night. Agathocles soldiers, believing that the prodigy
portended misfortune for them, fell into even greater anxiety about the
future."
(Fotheringham; Newton, 1970, p.103-104; Stephenson, p.348-351)
The site that directed me to the quote above stated:
"The
base synchronism is given by Diodorus Siculus, who dates his years according to
the Athenian archons, the Roman consuls, and, every fourth year, by Olympiad.
By this system, Diodorus 20.5.5 reports a solar eclipse in the year of the
archon Hieronmenon, corresponding to Ol. 117.3, which
must be that of 15 August 310. This gives us Ol. 117.3 =
310/09, from which Ol. 1.1 = 776/5. The resultant Olympic dates for
well-known events, such as the death of Alexander III, dated to Ol. 114.1 =
324/3, shows strong consistency with this date."6
So now, I'm presented with the need to know if there were any other eclipses around this battle, when it was, and I need to research who "Agathocles" is and his story to find out where he was when this event happened. I could not locate the book cited in the English translation of the Latin verse from the Greek! So now, if I look up Diodorus Siculus, I find that he is a first century BC historian, but cannot find a collection of his books online. This is how researches need to work in order to get all their facts and assumptions straight. This is why it takes so long to put this in writing: it wasn't the fitting together of all the verses of Scripture, but the ability to accurately link Creation Years to a date we can understand today. It also didn't help I never lived anywhere near a major city to exploit their metropolitan libraries – not that I believe it would have helped. You'll see what I mean when you get to Herod the Great, his life and death. You have Josephus claiming a date, you find the eclipse mentioned, you determine it is visible in Jerusalem, you convert the date, and it doesn't match a lot of history books who cite the same source you used to find the dates. It's a vicious circle of just who do you believe; and if there is a consensus, how do you know the "scholars" picked the correct date to pin the conversion?
I am
certainly not a scholar of Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek, but I might use them to
stress a point. Learning Castilian Spanish helped me to understand that the
nuances of a language sometimes require adding supporting words. This is why
the authors of the King James Bible chose to italicize those supporting words –
to show they did not exist in the original language. The written Word of God is
so alive that it points any human, wherever they may be in their life, to
Jesus. If you are slow to learn, it guides you simply to Jesus. If you’re an intellectual, or scholar, it will provide
wonderful mysteries begging you to follow them to Jesus. Are you a math wizard?
It will push you to Jesus. I challenge you to check out http://www.otherbiblecode.com – even if you’re not a
math wizard, you’ll be amazed!
I had to do
this study. Every time I put it down, I would “think” of something else and
would have to check it out. After each discovery, another question would
require more investigation and prayer. As with building a brick house, each
brick was given to me; guided by the Holy Spirit. I
started with the math; I then wanted to find the dates of Jesus. Satisfied with
those, I went on to study the Kings of Israel and Judah, then the Judges. Once
I got those done, I had to work on the prophecy of Daniel. When that was all done, I just counted how many one-thousand years
there where in my study, (II Peter 3:8). When the fourth “day” ended with the
start of Jesus’ ministry, I was amazed! Not only did each of these studies fit
into place like a puzzle, I didn’t have to do any
rework. So, no, I do not believe this to be inspired in the sense the Holy
Spirit did the men of old (II Peter 1:21). I look at this as if I was given a raw stone. I simply cut out the extra
information that didn’t deal with dates. This gem is a
gift to me from the Lord, Proverbs 17:8 “A
gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it
turneth, it prospereth.” The design was already there, I was
just used to point it out. I wish to only know the truth and I am not
out to find the end of the world or the “signs of the time” though they be
right in front of me. Prophecy is just history waiting for time to catch up.
Nothing I say or do will change prophecy, it will happen.
The more I learn about the world the more in awe I am at the marvelous work of the Lord. The more I read His written word, the more I learn of His marvelous work!
Job 5:9 “Which doeth great things and unsearchable;
marvellous things without number:”
I present my findings.

After pages and pages of empty notes, it would
become boring right off. I’ve created a graphical
version on my web site at http://www.abdicate.net/chrontime.aspx which looks
like Figure 1. The lines show the
process of time and the bubbles contain the information presented here. Since we’re talking about 6000 entries, you can use the hyperlinks
to jump from year to year. If the Creation year is speculated to show
continuity, it is marked with an asterisk (*). “CY” is “Creation Year” and “WY” is the “Gregorian Western Year” even though it
did not exist for the British Empire and the United States before 1752 AD, when
it was adopted. “JY” is the Jewish Year
calendar.

One of the few constants of the world throughout the ages has been games. It’s almost as if a gene residing in all of us to want to play games, and not just any games, puzzle games. Just in my lifetime, there have been great moves of people playing Rubik’s Cube, Tetris, crossword puzzles, Cryptoquip, and Sudoku. This isn’t limited to just games, but books, movies, and television shows; mysteries, intrigue, curiosity, they call to us.
The Scriptures are no different. They present sometimes a bit more of a challenge, but in the end there are great rewards. Genesis is one of my favorite books and I love Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” These ten words say it all. Since I love science and I love Scripture, this quote is fitting:
“In verse one of the Book, we can find all the elements of Science summed up in 10 words: (1) Time – Beginning, (2) Space – Heavens, (3) Motion – created, (4) Matter – the earth, (5) Energy – God created.” [The Book of Genesis, Bible Baptist Bookstore, copyright, 1969]
As I said, I love science and scripture. This seems to be mutually exclusive, but we are told to seek and search out wisdom. I say to you, I am an enigma. I believe that science and Scripture can mesh if science accepts Scripture!
Ecclesiastes 1:13-14 “And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.”
Not one to believe what I see, feel, or read at face value, I needed to understand and meditate on it for myself. To do my own homework as it were. There are gems that are lost in translation from Hebrew. The Hebrew alphabet does not contain vowels, just placeholders. They also read from right to left. See if you can understand the English sentence below:
L-v- th- L-rd
y-r G-d w-th -ll y-r h-rt.
If you read:
Love the Lord your God with all
your heart.
Then you can begin to see how it is the Jews read Hebrew. Today, they have dots and dashes to help foreigners learn Hebrew, but this wasn’t until the 600 AD to 1000 AD7.
The sixth letter of their alphabet called vav. Hebrew doesn't have numbers like the West; they use the letter to denote the number. Sort of like A=1 B=2 C=3 etc. Vav stands for the number six8 and two words: Nail and Hook. Vav is used to “hook” phrases and sentences together; like when we use the words “and”, “also”, and “so”. Psalms 119 is an alphabetic Psalm, i.e. each set of six verses is dedicated to a letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Psalms 119:41-46 is dedicated to vav, so the first letter of each verse starts with the letter vav.
Hebrew is also written from right to left. The cool thing is the first time in Scripture uses vav is in the sixth Hebrew word of Genesis 1:1. Here’s the breakdown in Hebrew and highlighted in purple:

The fourth word, highlighted in yellow, is pronounced “et” (אֵת), but the letters are the first and last letters of the Hebrew
alphabet: א - Alef having no sound, and ת – Tav, sounds like the letter "T"
in time. There is no meaning
for this word and is not translatable, however, it is used as the direct object
to indicate Who (God) did the action (create) to what
(heavens and the earth). The gem and Spiritual explanation isn’t
really understood until you get to the book of Revelation when Jesus states He is
the Alpha and Omega ΑΩ,
being the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, the Beginning and the
End. Alef and Tav are also the first and last letters
of the Hebrew alphabet. If you were in the Genesis 1:1 sentence looking at the
reader, the אֵת is on
the right hand of God! Who is seated on the right hand of God?a
Jesus, the Alpha and Omega, the Alef and Tav!
a Mark 16:19 "So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received
up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God."
Watch how this plays out:
·
The letter vav appears in the Scriptures the first time in the sixth word
of the first sentence.
·
God created Man on the sixth day.
·
Six stands for Man in the numerology of Scripture.
·
Vav has the count value of six in Hebrew.
·
First recorded sin of man (after the fall) is murder – the sixth
commandment.b
·
What Man will connect the breach between man and God – Alpha and
Omega/Aleph and Tav – Jesus!
·
What connects "heavens" with "the earth" – the Man, Alef
and Tav – וְאֵת – Jesus!
·
Jesus is the Word of God and through Him speaking out, created all. So all
is wrapped up in אֵת.c,
d
b Exodus 20:13 "Thou shalt not kill."
c Proverbs 30:5 "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put
their trust in him."
d John 1:1-2 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God."
Furthermore, in this first verse of Genesis you see that “אֵת” surrounds the word for “Heavens” and there’s that vav in the second “אֵת” and is used as translated “and” because it “hooks” Heaven and Earth together. Jesus is the “Connector”, the vav, the Man, between Heaven and Earth, even testifying to the manner in how it would be done on the cross! Since God “spoke” everything into existence it’s an amazing picture image within the written text that Jesus, the Alef and Tav (Alpha and Omega), the Beginning and the End, is the Creator. It is the hint of what was to come when the Word would become flesh, indeed the Word of God made flesh. In Genesis 1:1, the letter vav combines with Alef and Tav to show the Sign of the Lord of History, the One Mediator, the Man Christ Jesus, the Living Word – to connect Heaven and Earth in the most literal sense. The culmination of all history revealed in the Final Book prophesied in the pattern of Hebrew letters in the first verse of the First Book! Cool huh? See Appendix G for more.

knowing the age of Adam when he was created, (i.e. was
he created with the age of a man being 20 years old?) For the sake of this study,
these years are counted just as Scripture has it, the
years Adam lived. Genesis 5:3-5 specifically states that Adam had
lived 130 years when he begat Seth. This means that Adam's first year was as
God had created him, a man.
Genesis
5:3-5 “And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years,
and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and
he begat sons and daughters: And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred
and thirty years: and he died.”
For more information on Creation vs. Evolution, see
appendix A. Genesis chapter one is the culmination of the beginning, the
Genesis.
So now, we have a man on the earth. The seventh day
God rested. Why? Was He tired? No, He was being an
example to the man, who does get tired. Work six days then rest one. In chapter
2 verse 7, God then reiterates what happened by explaining how Adam came to be.

Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air,
and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet
for him.”
Eve was formed from Adam's rib, not from his foot or from his head, but next to his heart – to be loved.
Genesis

upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh
instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a

Jewish
Calendar Starts - CY 216 (WY: 3761 BC)
Why the difference in
the Jewish calendar and the rendering of chronology according to Scripture?
While I struggled with this over the years, I waited on the Lord to show me the
truth. The entire study, started in the year 2000, has been one in pursuit of
the truth. To quote Pilate, "...What is truth?...”
The answer is found in Psalms 119:160, "Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous
judgment endureth for ever.” This is a prophecy of Jesus, "...the Word was made flesh, and dwelt
among us...full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14.
So I say, can you put down your ideas, your dogma,
your desires to hear truth? The more I learn about the Lord and read His word,
I can only conclude what Enoch had said, "But without faith it is impossible to please him..." Hebrews
11:6. Once in the Old Testament and twice
in the New Testament it states that the Just shall live by faith.
When we are faced with a dilemma of contradictory
information, where do you decide to turn to for the truth? Scientists?
Archeologists? Your pastor? I
emphatically decided before I even started this study that it was to find out
the truth. My foundation being Scripture; that no matter how much evidence
there was in history or encyclopedias, Scripture would overrule any information
if it was contradictory to what is written in the word of God, Matthew
4:4, Luke 4:4, Hebrews 4:12.
Therefore, when I came to the impossible task of explaining away why there was
a difference in the Jewish calendar and the chronology presented in Scripture,
I waited on the Lord. Two years after completing the study, I found the answer
in Hebraic Literature. To quote Yoma, fol.9, col. 1.,
"What is the meaning where it is written (Ps. x. 27), 'The fear of the
Lord prolongeth days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened;' 'The
fear of the Lord prolongeth days' alludes to the four hundred and ten years the
first Temple stood, during which period the succession of high priests numbered
only eighteen. But 'the years of the wicked shall be
shortened' is illustrated by the fact that during the four hundred and twenty
years that the second Temple stood the succession of high priests numbered more
than three hundred. If we deduct the forty years during which Shimon the
Righteous held office, and the eighty of Rabbi Yochanan, and the ten of Rabbi
Ishmael ben Rabbi, it is evident that not one of the remaining high priests
lived to hold office for a whole year."
When I read this and other online sites on this topic, I realized that in order
to cover up the dates of the Messiah, the calendar had to have
been surreptitiously changed by the Jewish rulers of the time. Even
before this action, the New Testament said they lied about Jesus' resurrection,
knowing full well Who He was (Matthew 27:62-66) and they paid the Roman soldiers
large sums of money to be quiet about what really happened (Matthew
28:11-15). These passages
showed the length to which they were willing to go to hide the truth. Even
today, as Scripture states, they believe Jesus' body was
stolen by His disciples. They knew where and when Jesus was born (Matthew
2:1-8), they knew exactly
who He was, Jesus told them (Luke 4:16-22)! Some of the rulers knew and accepted
Him, (John 3) and defended Him (John 7:50) and cared for His body (John
19:38-42) after the
crucifixion.
To further this, the "Tract Abuda Zara", (rules and regulations
concerning transaction of business with heathens) Chapter 1, states,
"The disciples of Elijah taught: The world will continue for six
thousand years, the first two thousand of which were a chaos (Tahu), the second
two thousand were of Torah, and the third two thousand are the days of the Messiah, and because of our sins many years of these have
elapsed, and still he has not come."
So
if they believed this, then at 4000th year, the very year Jesus started His
ministry they would have been on the lookout for the Messiah (Mark
1:15). They rejected Jesus, but accepted
Barabbas and later Simon Bar Kokhba. The Talmud relates that Akiba ben Joseph
credited Kokhba with the title "Messiah"! That is until he was killed
by the Romans on the 9th of Av 135 AD. At his death
they had to quickly correct themselves so they "declared Simon bar Kokhba
a false messiah and renamed him Simon bar Kozeba ('Son of the lie')", TheFreeDictionary.com.
The Talmud, Sanhedrin, fol. 97, col. 1., states,
"As the land of Canaan had one year
of release in seven, so has the world one millennium of release in seven
thousand years; for it is said (Isa. ii. 17), 'And the Lord alone will be
exalted in that day;' and again (Ps. xcii. 1), 'A psalm or song for the Sabbath
day,' which means a long Sabbatic period, and again (Ps. xc. 4), 'For a thousand years in Thy sight are but as the day of
yesterday.'"
II
Peter 3:8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one
thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years
as one day."
The Jewish calendar is an algorithm created in 359 AD (c.) so the author
"started" different than the actual start of "time" because
he knew or didn’t know about the change in the calendar that happened around
136 AD. I put this information here because I wanted to show that though we
count the Jewish calendar years, I worked backwards to this point to show the
disparage between the “known” date and the actual passage of time according to
Scripture. Until the time of Jesus, this recollection of time reflected
accurately within five years of what is written in the
Talmud. The large change in the date of the year does not reflect until after
135 AD. This also proves that what is written in the
Talmud is not Scripture, inspired or not. Additionally,
even the Jews do not know definitively the number of years of the Jewish
calendar has today. In the book, Gates of
the Seasons by the Central Conference of American Rabbis, in an article
written by Alexander Guttmann on pages 7-10, he explains the origin and
understanding of the present Jewish calendar.
“The
Jewish tradition of counting years since the creation of the world has its
roots in early Talmudic times, but it was not adopted authoritatively until
several centuries later. In Biblical times, dates were
referred to as being ‘two years before the earthquake, the year of the
death of King Uzziah,’ etc. In Talmudic times, we find instances of dating from
the creation of the world, but this was adopted as the
Jewish method only much later as a response to Christian dating. It was in the eighth century
that Christians began to date their documents generally as AD (Anno Domini, the
year of the Lord), and so it is hardly a coincidence that in the eighth and
ninth centuries we find more and more Jewish documents dated ‘since the creation
of the world’ (sometimes referred to as AM, Anno Mundi, the year of the world). Obviously, calculating dates based on the
Christian theological principles were not acceptable to Jews; nevertheless, it
was not until the twelfth century that dating ‘since the creation’ was accepted
by Jews universally.”
Table 1 is from A Y2K
Solution to the Chronology Problem, page 77, written by Sheldon
Epstein, Bernard Dickman and Yonah Wilamowsky, that shows the
varying reasons for the error in the Jewish account of the chronology of time.
Also
according to the August 2005 newsletter by Prophecy
in the News, it shows that 154 years can be accounted for
by the removal of the Persian chronology of several kings by Yose ben Halafta.
“…[S]ometime between A.D. 135-160, Yose ben Halafta, student of Rabbi Akiva,
and admirer of Bar Kokhbah, changed the dating so that Daniel’s seventy weeks
would point to Bar Kokhbah as the predicted Messiah, rather than Jesus.”9
During
this study, I will focus on the Creation Year and provide the Western Year
since this is how the world currently counts. However the Jewish Year will be
provided based on today’s count (12 Dec 2009=25 Kislev 5770).

Genesis
7:6 “And Noah was six hundred years old when the
flood of waters was upon the earth.”
Noah
lives another 350 years for a total of 950 years.
On
17 Heshvan 1440 Noah and his family went into the ark and that same day the floodwaters
were broken up, Genesis 7:11-13, and it rained for 40 days and 40
nights, Genesis 7:17.
Another 150 days (Genesis 7:24, 8:3) the waters increased until 19 Nisan
1440 when they abated. It was on that day the waters "abated,” that is
they started to recede. According to Genesis 8:4 the ark rested 2 days earlier on the
7th month, the 17th day (17 Nisan 1440). It is Nisan because it wasn't a leap year so there was no Adar II. The waters
decreased (Genesis 8:5) until the 10th month when on the 1st
day of the month (1 Tammuz 1440) the mountaintops could be seen - I imagine
like little islands.
Noah waited 40 days (Genesis 8:6, 12 Av 1440) to send out the raven and
the dove - the dove returned. Seven more days he sent out the dove, who had
returned (19 Av 1440), and again the dove returned.
Yet seven more days Noah waited and sent the dove out again, not to return (Genesis
8:12, 26 Av 1440).
Genesis
7:11-13 “In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in
the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the
fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were
opened. And the
rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. In the selfsame day
entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife,
and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;”
Genesis
7:17 “And the flood was forty days upon the earth;
and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the
earth.”
Genesis
7:24 “And the waters prevailed upon the earth an
hundred and fifty days.”
Genesis
8:3-5 “And the waters returned from off the earth
continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were
abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on
the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. And the waters
decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first
day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.”
Genesis
8:6 “And it came to pass at the end of forty
days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:”
Genesis
8:12 “And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent
forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.”
Waters
dried up... - CY 1657
Creation Year: 1657 Western Year: 2320 BC
Finally, in the 601st year of Noah's life, 1st month
1st day (Genesis 8:13, 1 Tishri 1441) the waters were dried up from off the
earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, but it still took almost
another two months to completely dry up the land.
They all possibly left the ark when the ground was dry on the 27th of Heshvan
1441 (Genesis 8:14), interestingly exactly 365 days, according to the dates
provided in scripture, the serial day number, and the Jewish calendar.
Genesis 8:13-14 “And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.”
The Flood is one of several turning points for mankind. No longer is man allowed even close to live a full day, Genesis 2:17, Genesis 5:5, 2 Peter 3:8. I believe the Lord uses nature to fulfill His wishes. Before the Flood, there is no written evidence that it ever rained. In fact, Genesis 2:5-6 affirms there was a mist that watered the ground. If this assumption holds true all the way to Genesis 7:4 (the next mention of “rain” in scripture) when the Lord warned Noah that in seven days He would cause it to rain, then where did the rain come from?
According to an excellent book called “In the Beginning: Compelling Evidence for Creation and the Flood”, deep holes, 5.6 to 7.5 miles, drilled by the Russians and the Germans found within crushed granite “hot flowing, mineralized water (including salt water” – twice as salty as the ocean waters). A theory, called The Hydroplate Theory, asserts that the Earth’s crust sat on a thin layer of very salty water through interconnecting caverns 10 miles deep. Due to an increase in extreme pressure, a rift in the Earth formed 46,000 miles long, from the north of Iceland to Antarctica then up to India splitting off and running under Australia over and up along South America north to Alaska. The extreme pressure shot up into the air this water which then rained down all over the Earth like never before. The “fountains of the great deep” erupted causing the worldwide flood, and because of the height of the geyser, it began to freeze in the northern and southern regions of the planet and when the nearly frozen water fell back to the Earth, froze animals, rivers, and such instantly.
Though this theory helps explain where some the water came from, it doesn’t explain why people no longer live to be 900 years old, or what the “windows of heaven” where that opened. It is my belief that some other event occurred changing the conditions under which mankind lived. Whatever it was, it must have shortened the lifespan of mankind. Though scripture shows that men lived well into their 900’s, what changed in order for David to write in Psalms 90:10 that we would live only to be 70-80 years old, on average? It is conceivable that the division of the “waters from the waters” in Genesis 1:6-7 was the creation of a type of water barrier that surrounded the earth, much like the ozone layer of today. Somehow, this barrier blocked the harmful radiation of the sun. Today the holes in the ozone you hear about on the news allow more harmful rays in, burning people with extreme UV rays, causing sunburn in the short-term and skin cancer with long-term exposures. The lowering of the water barrier allowed enough of the sun’s radiation to enter the atmosphere shortening our lifespan to 70-80 years, on average worldwide. I believe that this erupting of the fountains caused the windows of heaven to open, i.e. disrupting this barrier, and together, flooded the Earth. If it were just the fountains, then why bother mentioning “windows of heaven”? If you view the graphical version of the timeline on my web site, you’ll visually notice the average age drops dramatically for those born after the Flood. Because of the breakup of the fountains of the deep, and the windows of heaven opening, the Flood occurred and shortened mankind’s lifespan. So you ask, why would God do this? Genesis 6:5 – you’re going to have to look this one up. Think about it, man lives 70-80 years and does great evil; imagine 900 years to do even greater evil? These gems are all over scripture. God means what He says and says what He means and allows novices to see what the wise cannot, 1 Corinthians 1:25-29.

Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from

Genesis
12:4 "So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken
unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when
he departed out of Haran."
Abram
was born to Terah in Terah's 70th year. This is a touchy subject because some
believe Abram was born when Terah was 130 years; deduced by Abram leaving his
father after his father died and Abram was 75 years old based
on Acts 7:2-4. Terah lived 205 years so subtracting 75 would have made Terah
130 when he had Abram. However, that is not what I believe. This to me is
another pitfall one must be careful. Scripture is specific when it says in
Genesis 12:1-3 that Abram was to leave his father.
This cannot be taken lightly if we are to believe that
scripture is inerrant and that every word has a specific purpose. Chapter 11
says Terah died, so how could Abram leave his father? I believe chapter 11 is a
summary account because Terah is no longer mentioned by name again in scripture
until Joshua 24:2 and only when talking about idol worshipers, and in I
Chronicles 1:26 and Luke 3:34 when discussing Abraham’s lineage. He is
mentioned in passing in Acts 7:4, which we’ll discuss
in a moment. Chapter 11 of Genesis discusses how Terah took his family to Haran
from Ur of the Chaldees, and he dies there in Haran at 205 years of age. I have
always wondered if his family was idol worshippers, then how did Abram learn
the truth. In the timeline that I am going to present, Abram would have been
alive when Noah was still alive. If we bump up the age of Terah to when he had
Abram at 130, Noah would have been dead. Not only would this event have
changed, but also the arrival date of Jesus in 7 BC would have been much later;
His death would certainly have been in 82 AD! This isn’t
possible, so something else must hold the answer. I believe the passage of time
written in scripture is accurate to the letter, and I hope to show you how that’s possible even with this timeline thought of Terah
being 70 when he had Abram.
I
don’t like using extra biblical books, but when
scripture isn’t clear, I believe they can be a tool to help look at things from
a different angle. By using them, I do not endorse their writings, nor do I
elevate them to the status of Scripture. Even using a dictionary can give you a
better understanding of the truth without changing the truth. Since many
studies include the historian Josephus who lived from 37 AD to ~100 AD (Wikipedia.com), I’ll
mention what he wrote. He wrote several
books in a collection called Antiquities
of the Jews where he discusses the world’s history from a Jewish
perspective. He does not match up with scripture very often for some reason,
but many people use his writings almost as
gospel. Nevertheless, in book 6, chapter 6, para 5, he
states “…for Terah begat Abram in his seventieth year.” Sadly, this is not proof, because he goes
on to say, “Arphaxad was the son of Shem,
and born twelve years after the deluge.” Now you understand my hesitation
when citing him as a source. We know from scripture that Arphaxad was born two
years after the flood, not twelve. Since Abram was more important in Moses’
writing of Genesis, the Lord chose to put Abram first instead of Haran, his
older brother. This assumption is made because in
Genesis 20:12 when Abram explains why he lied about Sarai being his sister: “And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the
daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my
wife.” In support of this,
in another extra biblical book called “Jasher” (mentioned
in Joshua 10:13 and II Samuel 1:18) it states in chapter 9:4 “Haran was
forty-two years old when he begat Sarai, which was in the tenth year of the
life of Abram.” This would make Sarai Abram’s stepsister and niece. The Genesis
account is of Abram, not Haran, and so when Moses states that Terah had Abram
at 70, Terah had Abram at 70. Haran and Nahor’s age however are
never mentioned in scripture, so this scenario is a possibility.
Another way to explain the account in Acts could be that the death of
Terah could have been a sustained spiritual death. I mean, what if Abram was called out of Haran after his father rejected Abram’s
faith and went back to idol worshipping and God called Abram to leave, knowing
that there was no more hope for his father. Remember, what that one disciple
that wanted to follow Jesus asked, “let me bury my father”
and Jesus said, “let the dead bury their dead” even though the dead cannot really
bury the dead, so Jesus conveys the meaning they are dead spiritually. (Mat
8:21-22, Luke 9:59-60, Mat 23:27). We are saved by faith, correct?
Yes, Eph 2:8. That is how Abraham was saved. Wait!
What do you mean, “he was saved by faith? It didn’t
exist then!” Yes it did:
Galatians 3:6-9 “Even
as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the
children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the
heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.”
Hebrews 11:8 “By
faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after
receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he
went.”
As Abraham was saved, looking forward to the cross (Gen 22:8) so we too
look back to the cross for salvation. We are all saved
by faith. (Hab 2:4; Joh 3:36; Rom 1:17, Gal 3:11; Php 3:9; Heb 10:38;
11:6-7) Though we do not have explicit scripture to help understand this one
bump in the road, this would be a way of using scripture to understand
scripture, as is my foundation, II Tim 2:15. I believe these pitfalls are
necessary to weed out those that do not hold scripture as being inerrant. So
now, bringing a New Testament principle back to the Old Testament as Galatians
and Hebrews did, is it so hard to believe that Terah was 70 when he had Abram?
This is why you must take into account all scripture and every word of
scripture, for those seemingly insignificant words can change everything.
Still,
Jasher also mentions that Abram was born to Terah when Terah was 70 years old
(Jasher 7:51). The book goes on to say there was some celestial event that the
sages of Nimrod interpreted as a sign that this newborn Abram “…will grow up and be fruitful, and multiply, and
possess all the earth, he and his children for ever, and he and his seed will
slay great kings, and inherit their lands.” Jasher 8:4. The next day these sages went
and told the king what had happened.
The king called Terah and made him surrender his newborn child to be killed. Terah took a son, born that day of one of his
servants, delivered him instead,
and sent his son, Abram, with his mother and nurse for 10 years into a cave for
safekeeping. “And when Abram
came out from the cave, he went to Noah and his son Shem, and he remained with
them to learn the instruction of the Lord and his ways, and no man knew where
Abram was, and Abram served Noah and Shem his son for a long time.” Jasher 9:5.
Additionally, in this chronology study I
discovered that Jesus started His ministry at the end of day four, i.e. 4000
years from creation. I am no way usurping Acts by using the book of Jasher or
because some “dates” line up to my advantage. I believe Acts 7:2-4 is 100%
accurate and means what it says. So what else could it mean?
There is yet one more possibility to help
smooth out this bump in the road. When the bible mentions
that Abram left Haran when “his father was dead”, “his father” could actually have
been referring to Noah. If the age of Noah is accurate in scripture, and
we know it is, Abram was 58 when Noah died. Since Abram lived with Noah and
learned the things of the Lord from him, it’s very
conceivable that he called Noah “father”. I was shocked to find in Jasher this
verse: “At that time, at the end of three
years of Abram's dwelling in the land of Canaan, in that year Noah died, which
was the fifty-eighth year of the life of Abram; and all the days that Noah
lived were nine hundred and fifty years and he died.” Jasher 13:9. I found
this after I had done the math with my study to determine Abram’s age of 58. I
lean towards this thinking, because Jasher says that Terah died when Isaac was
35 years old (Jasher 22:31), which would make him 205 just as the scriptures
say. In fact, Jasher even says that Shem (Noah’s son – who died several years
after Abraham died), Eber (Shem’s great-grandson), Terah and Nahor came for the
weaning ceremony of Isaac. In fact, there is this verse from Genesis when the
Lord appeared to Jacob:
Genesis 28:13 “And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and
said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land
whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;”
God
calls Abraham the “father” of Jacob, when Abraham is really his grandfather. In
fact, it is not a mistranslation because the word ba in Hebrew means “father” or “ancestor”
according to Ben-Yehuda’s Hebrew-English dictionary. In Acts 7:4, the word
grandfather in Greek is pathr and can mean “father or parent, literally
or figuratively, near or more remote”, according to Strong’s numbers. Besides,
if there are nine “fathers” between you and your great- great- great- great- great-
great- great- great-grandfather do you think it would be
written that way, other than here for emphasis? Therefore, there isn’t much of a stretch in reading Acts 7:4 that Abram’s "father"
was referring to Noah since we have established the chronology with Genesis.
The
difference is only 60 years. Why is this so important? All scripture leads to
Jesus and even the Jewish oral tradition says in the Babylonian Talmud: Tractate
Sanhedrin Folio 97a, “…in the seven
year cycle at the end of which the son of David will come-in the first year…”
II Kings 19:29 states that that year was a Sabbatical Year, corresponding to CY
3270, WY 707 BC, and the (modern reckoning) Jewish year of 3055. Jesus arrived
in JY 3755, exactly 700 years later, a Sabbatical Year, and the first year of
the 7-year cycle. It also states “The
Tanna debe Eliyyahu teaches: The world is to exist six thousand years. In the
first two thousand there was desolation; two thousand years the Torah
flourished; and the next two thousand years is the Messianic era, but through
our many iniquities all these years have been lost.” Here is the key point
to the Jews; after four thousand years, the Messiah would come. He did, those
of His household rejected Him and after 135 AD had to change the calendar to
hide the mistake of Rabbi Akiva10 declaring Bar Kokhbah the Messiah
and to prove false the growing “Christian” movement.
I
believe scripture wants us to find Jesus and there are many references that Jesus’
arrival time, was at the appointed time, you just have to put the puzzle
together: every piece.
Mark
1:15 “And saying, The
time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe
the gospel.”
Daniel
9:25-26 “Know therefore and understand, that from the
going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the
Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the
street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after
threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the
people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary;
and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war
desolations are determined.”
Galatians
4:4-5 “But when the fulness of the time was come,
God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them
that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”
Ephesians
1:10 “That
in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all
things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in
him:”
Jeremiah
33:15 “In those days, and at that time, will I
cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute
judgment and righteousness in the land.”
Habakkuk
2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time,
but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it;
because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
The
time was set and fulfilled. This is why these 60 years are so important.
From
Jesus’ own words:
Luke
19:41-44 “And when he was come near, he beheld the
city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known,
even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall
come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass
thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the
ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one
stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.”
Abram
lived 175 years.

Greatest promise given to Abram.
Genesis
12:1-3 "Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee
out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a
land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will
bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will
bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall
all families of the earth be blessed."
This
is the time of the sacrifices to God and God promises Abram an heir.
Genesis
15:1-5 “After these things the word of the LORD came
unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy
exceeding great reward. And Abram said, Lord GOD, what
wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this
Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram said, Behold, to me
thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own
bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able
to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.”
Genesis
15:12-16 "And when the sun was going down, a deep
sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great
darkness fell upon him. And he said unto Abram, Know
of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and
shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that
nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out
with great substance. And thou shalt go to thy fathers
in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. But in the fourth generation
they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full."
Galatians
3:17 "And this I say, that the covenant, that was
confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty
years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect."
The
promise of an heir and their affliction of 400 years begins.
It is here I believe that the 430 years start not only because God Himself says
400 (from Isaac, his seed), and Exodus 12:40-41 says "...this selfsame day…", the
Passover, which God made at Abram's sacrifice.
Exodus
12:40-41 “Now the sojourning of the children of

came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.”

Ishmael
(19 years old) and Hagar are cast out.
This
very year is thirty years since Abram's call by God and the promise of his seed
being afflicted for 400 years. It is here that I break
from tradition. From here on, you will need to pay attention to what scripture
says. From here to the Exodus, Scripture is purposefully vague to weed out any
who do not wish to know the truth. I choose this year because of Scripture. If
you take all the information presented in Scripture and lay the information out
in a spreadsheet, you’ll find the same results I present
here. Scholars won’t agree with me because they do not
hold Scripture to the infallible level I do. They “find” contradictory
information and use it over what Scripture tells us. We are
too far removed from these events in history to believe any book other
than Scripture. No encyclopedia or history book agrees entirely with one
another, so who do you choose to see the whole truth without bias? Even
sixteenth century books do not agree with all the events as they’re
written in Scripture. With every new archeological discovery comes a “new”
understanding, which either proves Scripture correct, or contradicts the
erroneous de facto beliefs, so the next history book printing is rewritten. This study is but a written document of what
the Spirit has shown me through Scripture. Let His words speak.

which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast
out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir
with my son, even with Isaac. And the thing was very
grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son. And
God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad,
and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken
unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. And
also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy
seed. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of
water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and
sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba."

So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for

Jacob

Genesis
31:41 "Thus have I been twenty years in thy house;
I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy

This
is the year of Joseph's birth instead of the year before because he was before
Pharaoh at 30 years old (Genesis 41:46) to interpret Pharaoh’s dream. The next
year was the start of the seven years of plenty, then the seven years of
famine. In the second year of famine, Jacobs goes to Egypt, stays there 17
years (Genesis 47:28) and dies there at 147 years old.
147-17=130.
Jacob goes it Egypt at 130 years old. Subtract 9 years (2nd year of
famine to the year Joseph is before Pharaoh)
130-9=121.
Jacob is 121 years old when Joseph is before Pharaoh to interpret his dream.
121-30=91.

Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him
of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man;
and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And
his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he
did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in
his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all
that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass from the time that he had
made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed
the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon
all that he had in the house, and in the field. And he
left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the
bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured."

wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he

she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not

Joseph is

the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison."
God

Genesis

So
great did the Lord bless Joseph that he was ruler of all of Egypt save the

Genesis
41:39-40 "And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as

seven years: the dream is one. And the seven thin and
ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty
ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine. This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to
do he sheweth unto Pharaoh. Behold, there come seven years of
great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt: And there shall arise after them
seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of
Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land; And the plenty shall not be known
in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous. And for that the dream was doubled unto
Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will
shortly bring it to pass.”

Exodus
6:16 "And these are the names of the sons of Levi
according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years
of the life of Levi were an hundred thirty and seven years."
Kohath,
son of Levi, lived 133 years, but we have no reference as to how old his father
was when he was born.
Exodus
6:18 "And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izhar,
and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath were an hundred
thirty and three years."
Amram,
son of Kohath, lived 137 years, the father of Moses and Aaron,
Jochabed was their mother.
Exodus
6:20 "And Amram took him Jochebed his father's
sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and
the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years."
Note:
Moses was 80 when the Exodus took place, fulfilling prophecy as to Moses being
the 4th generation of those strangers and afflicted and 430 years.
Exodus
7:7 "And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron
fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh."
Genesis
15:16 "But in the fourth generation they shall come
hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full."
The
clock started with Isaac at 5 years old, when he was weaned
and everyone rejoiced except for Ishmael who mocked the event. Sarah enraged
asked Abraham to remove them from the family. God okayed
it and they were thrown out. This was the start of the countdown.
When
Jacob went into Egypt because of the famine and God's blessing to Joseph, they
were the "thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs" but when
Joseph died, they "shall serve them; and they shall afflict them".
The hard part to understand is the phrase then that follows - "four
hundred years."
Genesis
15:13 "And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety
that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve
them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;"
In
order for all scriptures to match, including the times given and the
generations mentioned this must be the solution to the puzzle. The time
mentioned was an all-encompassing timeframe.
Jacob
was the stranger, Levi, Kohath, Amram and Moses were the afflicted - the 4
generations - fulfilling Genesis 15:16.

The
spies give an evil report and everyone is forced to
wander for 40 years.
Numbers
14:33 "And your children shall wander in the wilderness
forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcasses be wasted in the
wilderness."
The
Jewish Commentary, the Mishna, records that the people believed the evil report
of the spies and mourned all night in fear. They turned against Moses and the
two faithful spies, Joshua and Caleb (the only two from Egypt that entered the
Promised Land). Ta'anit 29a says it happened on the ninth of Av.
Numbers
14:1-10 "And all the congregation lifted up their
voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. And all the children of
Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation
said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God
we had died in this wilderness! And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this
land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey?
were it not better for us to return into Egypt? And they said one to another,
Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt. Then Moses and Aaron fell
on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of
Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were
of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: And they spake unto all the
company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to
search it, is an exceeding good land. If the LORD delight in us, then he will
bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and
honey. Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the
land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the
LORD is with us: fear them not. But all the congregation bade stone them with
stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation
before all the children of Israel."
Numbers
14 just records the curse from the Lord and the revolt against Moses and not
the date. This event started their 40-year wandering in the desert. Read about
the amazing facts that happened on 9 Av throughout history in the Appendix B.
Exodus
chapters 12 to 16 show that this day, 14 Nisan (also called Abib), was a
Wednesday. The issue you must address when doing this is that you must start at
the end and count back to the fourteenth of Nisan, which I’ll present in a
calendar form after showing the chain of events.
Exodus
12:6 states that on the fourteenth of the month Nisan, Israel was to kill the
Passover lamb, literally, “between the evenings” (הָעַרְבָּֽיִם - ha·'ar·ba·yim).
In my studies, this is the time after sunset and before night – twilight in the
Septuagint (Greek version of the Old Testament). I hope you will bear with me
while I explain this. The importance of this will become clear when we come to
the time Jesus died. You may not have ever noticed it, but nowhere in Scripture
is the fifteenth of Nisan of any importance; it’s all about the Passover and
the beginning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Let’s read the commandments
concerning the Passover.
·
First,
God changed the calendar so Nisan is the beginning of the year.
o
Exodus 12:2 “This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year
to you.”
·
Every man shall take a lamb for his family on
the tenth of the month.
o
Exodus 12:3 “Speak ye unto all the congregation of
Israel, saying, In the tenth day
of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house
of their fathers, a lamb for an
house:”
·
The lamb will be kept until
the fourteenth when it is to be killed in the evening.
o
Exodus 12:6 “And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth
day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel
shall kill it in the evening.”
·
The lamb must be eaten that
night, nothing remaining until morning.
o
Exodus 12:8-11 “And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with
bitter herbs they shall eat it.
Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs,
and with the purtenance thereof. And ye shall let nothing of it remain until
the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn
with fire. And thus shall ye eat it; with
your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye
shall eat it in haste: it is
the LORD'S passover.”

·
Just
to be clear on this point, this will be from the fourteenth until the
twenty-first of Nisan
o
Exodus 12:18 “In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat
unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.”
Now
I part from tradition. They did not leave in the middle of the night of the
fourteenth, but left on the morning of the fifteenth, after the Passover and
the Sabbath rest. Now this sounds contrary to movies, history books, even
against the entire country of Israel. The truth of the matter is that man got
involved and changed His most important day. In fact, it’s so important that if
someone is not ready, for very specific reasons, to celebrate the Passover in
Nisan, they can keep it in the second month, Iyyar on the fourteenth day of the
month. No other feast can be repeated if missed: seems like a very important
feast! Hezekiah kept the Passover in the second month because they could not
cleanse the temple in time for the fourteenth of Nisan.
Numbers
9:10-13 “Speak unto the children of
Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by
reason of a dead body, or be in
a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the LORD. The
fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and
bitter herbs. They shall leave
none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the
ordinances of the passover they shall keep it. But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey,
and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from
among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his
appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.”
II Chronicles
30:15 “Then they killed the passover
on the fourteenth day of the
second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified
themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.”
Numbers
reiterates this date:
Numbers 28:16
“And in the fourteenth day of the
first month is the passover of
the LORD.”
Even later in Deuteronomy, it spells it out even clearer: Passover on the fourteenth, then six days of unleavened bread, which started on the morning of the fourteenth.
Deuteronomy 16:4 “And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.”
Deuteronomy
16:8 “Six days thou shalt eat
unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall
be a solemn assembly to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work therein.”
This
cements the requirement to kill the lamb after the sun sets:
Deuteronomy 16:6 “But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.”
After
Joshua entered the land of Israel, they had their first Passover and the manna
stopped.
Joshua 5:10-12 “And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho. And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day. And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.”
Ezra
kept the Passover on the fourteenth of Nisan when he arrived:
Ezra 6:19 “And
the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.”
And
Ezekiel:
Ezekiel 45:21
“In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the
passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.”
The next time “Passover” is mentioned in scripture is Jesus’ last, Matthew 26:2.
All these verses show that they are to kill the lamb on the fourteenth, after sunset, which is the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread! The Scriptures clearly show that the Passover lamb is to be killed after the sunset on the fourteenth of Nisan. Remember the date changes at sunset. Sometime between Ezra’s time and Jesus’ visit to the earth, the leaders of Israel changed God’s day from the evening of the fourteenth – the beginning of a day – to the next beginning of a day, the fifteenth. Remember the date changes at sunset. Today, the Passover is killed before sunset on the fourteenth, and then eaten on the fifteenth! Unbelievably, Josephus has the answer:
“What I would now explain is this, that the
Pharisees have delivered to the people a great many observances by succession
from their fathers, which are not written in the laws of Moses; and for that
reason it is that the Sadducees reject them, and say that we are to esteem
those observances to be obligatory which are in the written word, but are not
to observe what are derived from the tradition of our forefathers. And
concerning these things it is that great disputes and differences have arisen
among them, while the Sadducees are able to persuade none but the rich, and
have not the populace obsequious to them, but the Pharisees have the multitude
on their side.” 12
When
I first read this, the first thing that came into my mind was Tevye from Fiddler on the Roof singing
"Tradition!!!!! Tradition!!!" In fact, if you look up the word
"tradition" in Scripture the first appearance is when the Pharisees
ask Jesus why His disciples transgress the tradition of the elders (Mat 15:2).
Colossians
2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through
philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of
the world, and not after Christ."
Now
that we've established that the Passover is a Sabbath and the twenty-first day
is a Sabbath, let’s reason this out. If the first day is a Sabbath (Passover),
would God move them out of Egypt on the day of rest, breaking His own law not
even a day after telling Moses what to do? Thus, I believe they rested the daylight
hours after the Passover which is still the fourteenth of Nisan. After sunset,
the beginning of the fifteenth, they began to pack up, the Egyptians were
telling them to hurry up, and as Israel left in the morning of the fifteenth,
the Egyptians saw Israel leave while Egypt buried their dead! The Egyptians
even gave them spoils to Israel!
Exodus
12:33-36 “And the Egyptians were
urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for
they said, We be all dead men. And the people took their dough
before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes
upon their shoulders. And the children of Israel did according to the word of
Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold,
and raiment: And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians,
so that they lent unto them such
things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.”
With
600,000 men, their children, wives, any aged that survived, flocks and herds,
simply cannot be put together in five hours! Yes, they left in haste, but they
still had to pack up their belongings, get the spoils of Egypt, leaving the
food preparation for last. Read scripture not Hollywood movies to get the
truth.
Now
I’ll show you how this first Passover was on a Wednesday. After sunset on the
fifteenth, they packed up and left by morning – the actual Exodus – exactly 430
years after the night Abraham sacrificed unto the Lord for a covenant. "Morrow"
is defined as "the next day", "the following day", or
"the morning". Since the date changes at sunset, the
"morrow" would have been the daylight hours of the fifteenth of
Nisan! If you search for "how long is the Passover" you'll find two
answers: seven days or eight days. The answers you will not get are six hours
or eight hours. They treat the entire Feast of Unleavened Bread as Passover,
all seven days, which also isn't right. You'll even find sources stating
emphatically Passover starts on the fifteenth of Nisan! Willfully ignorant of
the truth!
Numbers
33:3 "And they departed from Rameses in the first
month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the
passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all
the Egyptians."
They went from Rameses to Succoth. The Egyptian army pursued them (the time isn’t given, but because the feast of Unleavened Bread is seven days, it’s an assumption that they are by the sea a week after the Exodus on 21 Nisan). Moses raises his hands in obedience to the Lord and the sea splits. By the next morning, Israel was in the Sinai. Moses took them three days into the wilderness where there was no water. Next, they went to the wilderness of Sin. Exodus 16:1 is our anchor day:
Exodus 16:1 “And
they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of
Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second
month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.”
On
this day (15 Iyyar), Moses explains that from now on it would rain bread every
morning and that each day they were to go and gather a certain amount for that
day. On the sixth day, they would gather double the amount because there would
not be any bread on the seventh day. So that night (16 Iyyar) they received the
quail and the next morning a small round thing, they called manna, was on the
ground. They repeated this for six days, and on the seventh day, they disobeyed
the Lord and went looking for manna, Exodus 16:27. That means this
"seventh" day is a Sabbath (22 Iyyar), which makes the fifteenth a
Sabbath as well. With all this information, we now have enough to put these
markers into a calendar form. In today's calendar, Nisan is 30 days and Iyyar
has 29 days. As you will see, counting backwards from the first Sabbath, a
Saturday, and the six gatherings of the manna to the first time quail arrived a
week earlier, you arrive at another Saturday – the fifteenth of Iyyar (the
second month after departing Egypt). This sets the date of Nisan 14 as
Wednesday!

Now
that we established that the first Passover was a Wednesday, (even with any
calendar change because Nisan is always 30 days) we can see another parallel
that Jesus accomplished. The only place, after taking the land, a Passover
sacrifice can occur is in Jerusalem.
Deuteronomy
16:5-6 “Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which
the LORD thy God giveth thee: But at the place which the LORD thy God shall
choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even,
at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of
Egypt.”
I Kings 9:3 “And

hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put
my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there
perpetually.”

Joshua

Why
do I make the distinction? Because this is the end of the 1st year Joshua as a
Judge and the end of their journey to the promise land, and the warring to make
a home for themselves. Their journey was over and they had rest. This is the
start of the next clock.

See
from here to Solomon's 4th year of reign is exactly 480 years. If you read I
Kings 6:1 you'll see that it doesn't say from the Exodus to Solomon's 4th year,
it says "...after the children of
Israel were come out of the land of Egypt...". You could take it as
being from the Exodus, but when you read the chronologies of the Judges later
in this study you'll see that it was closer to 590 years, again forcing you to
choose to believe every word scripture or not.

Servitude: Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia
Until Samson, the times of the Judges is chronologically in order, but some do
over lap, meaning having more than one judge at the same time. This will be
pointed out when we get there.
Sadly,
right after Joshua died, Israel didn't remove (utterly destroy) the inhabitants
and some were found living among Israel, which lead them to going after strange
gods, and to God's judgement.
Judges
2:11-12 "And the children of Israel did evil in the
sight of the LORD, and served Baalim: And they forsook the LORD God of their
fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods,
of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto
them, and provoked the LORD to anger."
Therefore,
God sold them into servitude. Judges chapter two is a summary of all the judges

This
first servitude was for eight years.

Servitude: Philistines and Amorites for 18 years, Judges 10:6-9, but this time
when they prayed for a deliverer God told them to pray to their gods for
deliverance, Judges 10:10-14.
Judges
10:6-9 "And the children of Israel did evil again in
the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria,
and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of
Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not
him. And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into
the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon. And
that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all
the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the
Amorites, which is in Gilead. Moreover the children of Ammon passed over Jordan
to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of
Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed."
Judges
10:10-14 "And the children of Israel cried unto the
LORD, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our
God, and also served Baalim. And the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Did
not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children
of Ammon, and from the Philistines? The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and
the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of
their hand. Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will
deliver you no more. Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them
deliver you in the time of your tribulation."

Judges
13:1 "And the children of Israel did evil again in
the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the
Philistines forty years."
Here
is another break from tradition. This is the last mention of anything
concerning judges until I Samuel. From here to David, it can get rather muddy,
but I believe that with the given evidence (scripture), this period matches
Eli, Samson, Samuel and Saul. We've seen that judges can over lap and the fact that
all these are mentioned, as well as the lack of time given leads to the idea
that they are not connected to the other judges, other than Eli. What is given is
that the ark is 20 years in Kirjathjearim, the age and death of Eli, the
absence of the age of Saul and Samuel, and any dates linking them to David. Furthermore,
I believe that to add Samson, Eli and the 40 years of the Philistines into 80
years on top of 40 years for Samuel, contradicts scripture. This method of
linking them all to the same 40 years, at this time, is the only way ALL verses fit without disregard to
other scriptures.
Note:
Not all of Samuel's years are in with Eli's, just most. This entry is to show
from Eli to David in summary.
Eli
is judge for these next 40 years starting at age 58. Samson is deliverer during
this timeframe for 20 years – just for your information, a deliverer and a judge
are the same.
I
Samuel 4:12-18 "And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the
army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes rent, and with earth
upon his head. And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside
watching: for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into
the city, and told it, all the city cried out. And when Eli heard the noise of
the crying, he said, What meaneth the noise of this tumult? And the man came in
hastily, and told Eli. Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes
were dim, that he could not see. And the man said unto Eli, I am he that came
out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there
done, my son? And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the
Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and
thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.
And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from
off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died:
for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years."
I
Samuel 6:1 “And the ark of the LORD was in the country
of the Philistines seven months.”
The
ark is returned to Israel for the plagues that fell on the Philistines.
I
Samuel 6:14 “And the cart came into the field of Joshua,
a Bethshemite, and stood there, where there was a great stone: and they clave
the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the LORD.”
Because
they looked into the ark, the Lord smote 50,070 men of Bethshemesh. They called
the men of Kirjathjearim where it stayed for 20 years until David called for
it.
I
Samuel 7:1-2 “And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and
fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in
the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD. And it
came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for
it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.”
I Samuel 7:15 “And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.”
Samuel
anoints Saul as king.
I
Samuel 10:24-25 “And Samuel said to all the people, See ye
him whom the LORD hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the
people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the king. Then Samuel
told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it
up before the LORD. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his
house.”
Saul
is made king.
I
Samuel 11:15 “And all the people went to Gilgal; and there
they made Saul king before the LORD in Gilgal; and there they sacrificed sacrifices
of peace offerings before the LORD; and there Saul and all the men of Israel
rejoiced greatly.”
Saul
didn’t last long. He sins after two years in office by not obeying the Lord and
wait for Samuel to make the burnt offering.
I
Samuel 13:1 “Saul reigned one year; and when he had
reigned two years over Israel,”
I
Samuel 13:13-14 “And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done
foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he
commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel
for ever. But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a
man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his
people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.”
Saul
sinned again by being disobedient and so the Lord repented He made Saul king.
The Lord called on Samuel to go and anoint David to be king.
I
Samuel 16:13-14 “Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and
anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon
David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah. But the
Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD
troubled him.”
I
Samuel 25:1 “And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were
gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And
David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran.”
I
Samuel 31:6 “So Saul died, and his three sons, and his
armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together.”
II
Samuel 2:4 “And the men of Judah came, and there they
anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That
the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul.”
II
Samuel 2:10 “Ishbosheth Saul's son was forty years old
when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of
Judah followed David.”
All
of this took place over twenty years. How do I know this? Remember when Eli
died because the Philistines took the ark, returned it and then the ark was
taken to Kirjathjearim and stayed there until David’s first year? All the years
of Saul was the ark forgotten.

this is just a mention of activities and not intended to be attributed to this

Newton attributes only ten years to Saul’s reign. (The Chronology of Ancient Kingdoms Amended, Sir Isaac Newton,
London, MDCCXXVIII)
At
some time, Saul is anointed King, and then later becomes king, the Kingdom is
taken away, and given to David, who is anointed, but not made King for a while.
Like Saul, no dates are given in scripture.
Now
I know of Acts 13:21, but remember Samuel's time is included and because of the
ark being in Kirjathjearim for 20 years from Eli's death to David's reign, well
that doesn't leave enough time for 40 years to pass to be attributed to Saul.
In fact one Jewish site stated that Saul reigned only 2 years. The fact is,
scripture doesn't say. Furthermore, since Josephus isn't scripture, he's not
perfect, and is often wrong when dealing with numbers. I believe this is
because even at his time he was influenced by the errors of Claudious Ptolomey.
I
believe this because of the verse before it (Acts 13:20) states that the 450
years were "until Samuel," meaning that Samuel's years were not
included in with the time of the Judges. I believe that the 40 years is
attributed to Samuel, which overlaps Eli and Saul and David. I know that it's a
stretch but Scripture is without error and to give Saul 40 years reign
contradicts I Samuel 7:2 and I Chronicles 13:5-6 which shows that from the
death of Eli to David's first year of reign were only 20 years.

David
dies, Solomon made king - CY 2975
Creation
Year: 2975 Western Year: 1003
BC
David dies and Solomon reigns in his stead. This year is count as the first
year of Solomon. David’s 40th year ended in CY 2974. Since we do not
know the month, we are limited to splitting by years instead of by the actual
months.
I
Kings 2:12 "Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David
his father; and his kingdom was established greatly."
This
year is the "about" 530
years from the Exodus per the summary of Paul in Acts 13. The Exodus was in
Creation Year 2453 to David's death in this year, Creation Year 2975, is 522
years.
The
years of "about forty years"
(Acts 13:18 "And about the time of
forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness."), "about the space of four hundred and fifty
years" (Acts 13:20) and "by
the space of forty years" (Acts 13:21) add up to "about" 530 years. Two "abouts" and 8 years difference,
works for me.
Why
does this work for me? Well, it's simple, if Paul didn't know the exact dates
of each event mentioned, and scripture didn't spell it all out, the "abouts" is all we're going to get.
With all the dates presented here stopping and starting in January, one must
keep in mind that some events happen in quick secession and others take time to
change. This "wiggle room" is a given, even in scripture, hence the
usage of "about".
Though
you may not agree with the individual judge times, or the length of the reign
of Saul, to have all these verses agree shows that this scenario is very close
to actual events. So now you understand why I chose to count from Joshua's 5th
year (they rested from war - Acts 13:19 and Joshua 14:10) to the fourth
year of Solomon. I believe I Kings 6:1 that it was 480 years, because it was,
exactly, not "about". After
resting in the land from war, Creation Year 2498, to Solomon's fourth
year of reign, Creation Year 2978, equals 480 years exactly.
Acts
13:18-21 “And about the time of forty years suffered
he their manners in the wilderness. And when he had destroyed seven nations in
the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot. And after that he
gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until
Samuel the prophet. And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them
Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty
years.”
Be
careful with the counts. The Exodus, the wanderings, the war, the judges,
Samuel, Saul up to David come to 481 years (CY 2453 to CY 2934). Remember, Eli
died when the ark was taken, stayed for 7 months with the Philistines, was
returned to Kirjathjearim and
stayed there 20 years until David was made king and he took it out. All the
years of Saul it was neglected. So from the death of Eli to David’s first year
was 20 years. I Kings 6:1 speaks from “out of the land of Egypt” it isn’t
counting the years of wandering and the 5 years to war for the land with Joshua
because from Joshua, all the judges, to Solomon’s fourth year is exactly 480
years (CY 2498 to CY 2978). From the day of the Exodus to the fourth year of
Solomon is 525 years (CY 2453 to CY 2978). Scripture counts two ways: one from
Exodus to Eli; the second from the end of the Joshua’s wars to Solomon’s fourth
year.
Joshua
14:10 "And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me
alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this
word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now,
lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old."
I
Kings 6:1 "And it came to pass in the four hundred and
eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt,
in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is
the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD."- C
Here’s
the breakdown:
Exodus CY 2453 to Joshua’s fifth year CY 2498 (not counted): 45 years
Joshua’s
fifth year CY 2498 to Eli’s death: CY 2913:
415
years
CY 2914: 7 months with the
Philistines, 20 years in Kirjathjearim:
CY 2934: 20 Years + 7 months
David made king and rules
40 years: CY 2934 to CY 2974: 40 Years
Solomon made king CY 2975
to fourth year 2978: 4 Years
415 + 20 + 40 + 4 + 7months = 479 years 7 months, from the rest from
war and wandering CY 2498 to Solomon’s fourth year, CY 2978. Scripture does not
provide enough information to fill in the missing four months. Four unspecified
months spread over 480 years does not constitute a contradiction. So, what do
you know, Scripture is correct, 480 years.

Understanding... -
CY 3014
These
secular kings mentioned here have their year of accession added. The Jewish
kings had no accession years added to their years, usually. This is very
important to remember. This is seen much better in an Excel spreadsheet.
The Talmud states too in Yoma, fol. 38, col. 2, "If a king be crowned on the twenty-ninth of Adar (the last month of the
sacred year), on the morrow--the first of Nissan--it is reckoned that he
commences his second year, that being the new year's day for royal and
ecclesiastical affairs."

** Reheboam must of died just before his end of the year for Ajijah to have started to reign in Jeroboam's 18th year or some event took place that's not recorded as to why it wasn't immediate in his 17th year.

Asa King
of Judah - CY 3033
Creation
Year: 3033 Western Year: 944
BC
Asa reigned 41 years 20th year of Jeroboam.
The
Jews didn't count accession years. No explanation for this count of the year,
but if 2818 was the second year of Asa then Nadab would have taken the throne
while Jeroboam was still king. Something not impossible, but changing this
affects other scripture references below.
I
Kings 15:9 "And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king
of Israel reigned Asa over Judah."

Baasha
King of Israel - CY 3036

Baasha killed Nadab and all the house of Jeroboam (reigned 24 years) third year
of Asa.

I
Kings 15:33 "In the third year of Asa king of Judah began
Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four
years."
Jehu
the prophet told Baasha he was evil and would end up like Jeroboam.
I
Kings 16:1-7 "Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the
son of Hanani against Baasha, saying, Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the
dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the
way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger
with their sins; Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the
posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the
son of Nebat. Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him
that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat. Now the rest of
the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the
book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? So Baasha slept with his
fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead. And
also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the
LORD against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did
in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands,
in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him."
Jeroboam
died in the second year of Asa; Nadab ruled 2 years; Baasha killed Nadab in the
third year of Asa, yet Nadab ruled 2 years. The difference is that all events
are shown from January to January instead of the more plausible May to Aug,
etc.

wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that
day in the camp. And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and
they besieged Tirzah. And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was
taken, that he went into the palace of the king's house, and burnt the king's
house over him with fire, and died. For his sins which he sinned in doing evil
in the sight of the LORD, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin
which he did, to make Israel to sin. Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his
treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of
the kings of Israel?"

II Chronicles 21:9-20 "Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots. So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers. Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto. And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah, But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, which were better than thyself: Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods: And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day. Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians: And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons. And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease. And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two
