Linear Chronology of Man According to the Scriptures

Creation of Adam  -   Creation Year: 0
The First Adam
Creation Year: 0
Jewish Year: Before inception
Western Year: 3977 BC

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
Genesis 2:7
King James Version

Age of Adam  -   Creation Year: 0
This is the inferred creation date of Adam according to scripture.

Not knowing the age of Adam when he was created, (i.e. was he created with the age of a man being 20 years old?) For the sake of this study these years are counted just as Scripture has it, the years Adam lived. Genesis 5:3-5 specifically states that Adam had lived 130 years when he begat Seth. This means that Adam's first year was as God had created him, a man.
Adam - the first man  -   Creation Year: 0
Adam lived a total of 930 years.

Genesis 5:3-5

Eve is formed...  -   Creation Year: 1
We don't know what year she was made, so I put her in the next year figuring that it took that time to name all the animals, Genesis 2:19-20.

Eve was formed from Adam's rib, Genesis 2:21-23

Exiled from Eden  -   Creation Year: 3
We don't know what year they fell so this is just to show the passage of time, Genesis 3:22-24.

Eve is tempted, Adam falls  -   Creation Year: 3
We don't know what year she was tempted so this is just to show the passage of time, Genesis 3:6.

Cain is born  -   Creation Year: 5
We don't know what year Eve gave birth so this is just to show the passage of time, Genesis 4:1.

Abel is born  -   Creation Year: 6
We don't know what year Eve gave birth so this is just to show the passage of time, Genesis 4:2.

Cain kills Abel  -   Creation Year: 36
We don't know what year this happened so this is just to show the passage of time, Genesis 4:8.

Seth is born  -   Creation Year: 130
Creation Year: 130
Jewish Year: Before inception.
Western Year: 3847 BC

Adam's age at the birth of Seth Genesis 5:3-5.

Seth  -   Creation Year: 130
Seth lived 912 years, Genesis 5:6-8.

Jewish Calendar Starts  -   Creation Year: 215
Why the difference in the Jewish calendar and the rendering of chronology according to Scripture?

While I struggled with this over the years, I waited on the Lord to show me the truth. The entire study, started over 7 years ago, has been one in pursuit of the truth. To quote Pilate, "...What is truth?..." The answer is found in Psalms 119:160, "Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgment endureth for ever." This is a prophecy of Jesus, "...the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...full of grace and truth." John 1:14.

So I say can you put down your ideas, your dogma, your desires to hear truth? The more I learn about the Lord and read His word, I can only conclude what Enoch had said, "But without faith it is impossible to please him..." Hebrews 11:6. Once in the Old Testament and twice in the New Testament it states that the Just shall live by faith.

When we are faced with a dilemma of contradictory information, where do you decide to turn to for the truth? Scientists? Archeologists? Your pastor? I emphatically decided before I even started this study that it was to find out the truth. My foundation being Scripture; that no matter how much evidence there was in history or encyclopedias, Scripture would overrule any information if it was contradictory to what is written in the word of God, Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4, Hebrews 4:12.

So when I came to the impossible task of explaining away why there was a difference in the Jewish calendar and the chronology presented in Scripture, I waited on the Lord. Two years after completing the study, I found the answer in Hebraic Literature. To quote Yoma, fol.9, col. 1.,

"What is the meaning where it is written (Ps. x. 27), 'The fear of the Lord prolongeth days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened;' 'The fear of the Lord prolongeth days' alludes to the four hundred and ten years the first Temple stood, during which period the succession of high priests numbered only eighteen. But 'the years of the wicked shall be shortened' is illustrated by the fact that during the four hundred and twenty years that the second Temple stood the succession of high priests numbered more than three hundred. If we deduct the forty years during which Shimon the Righteous held office, and the eighty of Rabbi Yochanan, and the ten of Rabbi Ishmael ben Rabbi, it is evident that not one of the remaining high priests lived to hold office for a whole year."

When I read this and other online sites on this topic, I realized that in order to cover up the dates of the Messiah, the calendar had to have been surreptitiously changed by the Jewish rulers of the time. Even before this action, the New Testament said they lied about Jesus' resurrection, knowing full well who He was (Matthew 27:62-66) and they paid the Roman soldiers large sums of money to be quiet about what really happened (Matthew 28:11-15). These passages showed the length to which they were willing to go to hide the truth. Even today, as Scripture states, they believe Jesus' body was stolen by His disciples. They knew where and when Jesus was born (Matthew 2:1-8), they knew exactly who He was, Jesus told them (Luke 4:16-22)! Some of the rulers knew and accepted Him, (John 3) and defended Him (John 7:50) and cared for His body (John 19:38-42) after the crucifixion.

To further this, the "Tract Abuda Zara" (rules and regulations concerning transaction of business with heathens) states, "The disciples of Elijah taught: The world will continue for six thousand years, the first two thousand of which were a chaos (Tahu), the second two thousand were of Torah, and the third two thousand are the days of the Messiah, and because of our sins many years of these have elapsed, and still he has not come." So if they believe this, then at 4000th year, the very year Jesus started His ministry they would have been on the lookout for the Messiah (Mark 1:15). They rejected Jesus, but accepted Barabbas and later Simon Bar Kokhba. The Talmud relates that Akiba ben Joseph credited Kokhba with the title "Messiah"! That is until he was killed by the Romans on the 9th of Av 135 AD. At his death they had to quickly correct themselves so they "declared Simon bar Kokhba a false messiah and renamed him Simon bar Kozeba ('Son of the lie')", TheFreeDictionary.com.

The Talmud, Sanhedrin, fol. 97, col. 1. states, "As the land of Canaan had one year of release in seven, so has the world one millennium of release in seven thousand years; for it is said (Isa. ii. 17), 'And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day;' and again (Ps. xcii. 1), 'A psalm or song for the Sabbath day,' which means a long Sabbatic period, and again (Ps. xc. 4), 'For a thousand years in Thy sight are but as the day of yesterday.'"

2 Peter 3:8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

For the sake of one righteous man the whole world is preserved in existence, as it is written (Prov. x. 25), "The righteous man is an everlasting foundation." This verse explains why the Rapture happens.

The Jewish calendar is an algorithm created in 359 AD (c.) so the author "started" different than the actual start of "time".

Shem is born  -   Creation Year: 1558
Creation Year: 1056
Jewish Year: 840
Western Year: 2921 BC

The age of Noah when he had Shem. This is a pitfall if not careful. In Genesis 5:32 it states that Noah was 500 years old when he had Ham, Shem and Japheth. This is a generalized statement because later in Genesis 11:10 is says that Shem had his first son 2 years after the flood at the age of 100. The flood occurred in Noah's 600th year, Genesis 7:6.

602 - 100 is 502. Shem was born when Noah was 502 years old.

Shem  -   Creation Year: 1558
Shem lived 600 years, Genesis 11:10-11.

The Flood  -   Creation Year: 1656
Creation Year: 1656
Jewish Year: 1440
Western Year: 2321 BC

Noah lives another 350 years for a total of 950 years.

On 17 Heshvan 1440 Noah and his family went into the ark and that same day the flood waters were broken up, Genesis 7:11-13, and it flooded for 40 days and 40 nights, Genesis 7:17.

Another 150 days (Genesis 7:24, 8:3) the waters increased until 19 Nisan 1440 when they abated. It was on that day the waters "abated", that is, they started to recede. According to Genesis 8:4 the ark rested 2 days earlier on the 7th month, the 17th day (17 Nisan 1440). It is Nisan because it wasn't a leap year so there was no Adar II. The waters decreased (Genesis 8:5) until the 10th month when on the 1st day of the month (1 Tammuz 1440) the mountain tops could be seen - I guess like little islands.

Noah waited 40 days (Genesis 8:6, 12 Av 1440) to send out the raven and the dove - the dove returned. Seven more days he sent out the dove, who had returned (19 Av 1440), and again the dove returned. Yet 7 more days Noah waited and sent the dove out again, not to return (Genesis 8:12, 26 Av 1440).

Waters dried up...  -   Creation Year: 1657

Finally in the 601st year of Noah's life, 1st month 1st day (Genesis 8:13, 1 Tishri 1441) the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark.

They all possibly left the ark when the ground was dry on the 27th of Heshvan 1441 (Genesis 8:14), interestingly exactly 365 days, according to the dates provided in scripture, the serial day number, and the Jewish calendar.

This is the time of the sacrifices to God and God promises Abram an heir, Genesis 15:9, Galatians 3:17. Genesis 15:13. A promise of heir and affliction of 400 years. It is here I believe that the 430 years start not only because God Himself says 400 (from Isaac), but Exodus 12:40-41 says "430 years" in verse 40 and emphasizes it in verse 41 by saying "this selfsame night", the Passover, and the sacrifice God made Abram execute in Genesis 15:9.

This year is 30 years since Abraham's call and promise of his seed being slave for 400 years. It is here that I break from tradition, but from here on, you will need to pay attention to what scripture says. From here to the Exodus scripture is purposefully vague to weed out any who do not wish to know the truth. This study is but a written document of what the Spirit has shown me through scripture. Let His words speak. (Genesis 21:9-13)

Creation Year: 2331
Jewish Year: 2115
Western Year: 1646 BC

Levi dies, Exodus 6:16, at 137 years old.

Kohath, son of Levi, lived 133 years (Exodus 6:18), but we have no reference as to how old his father was when he was born.

Amram, son of Kohath, lived 137 years, (Exodus 6:20) the father of Moses and Aaron, Jochabed was their mother.

Note: Moses was 80 (Exodus 7:7) when the Exodus took place, fulfilling Genesis 15:16 as to Moses being the 4th generation of those strangers and afflicted and 430 years.

The clock started with Isaac at 5 years old, when he was weaned and everyone rejoiced except for Ishmael who mocked the event. Sarah enraged asked Abraham to remove them from the family. God okayed it and they were thrown out. This is the start of the countdown.

When Jacob went into Egypt because of the famine and God's blessing to Joseph, they were the "thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs" (Genesis 15:13a) but when Joseph died they "and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them".

The hard part to understand is the phrase then that follows - "four hundred years."

In order for all scriptures to match, including the times given and the generations mentioned this must be the solution to the puzzle. The time mentioned was an all-encompassing timeframe.

Jacob was the stranger, Levi, Kohath, Amram and Moses were the afflicted - the 4 generations - fulfilling Genesis 15:16.

430 Years from the Promise

14 Nisan, that evening, the Passover. On 15 Nisan they leave Egypt, 430 years after Abram's Sacrifice and God's promise ("...the selfsame day...", Exodus 12:41), Moses is 80 (Exodus 7:7).

Though Josephus isn't one for accuracy, but in Book II, Chapter 15, para 2 he states: "They left Egypt in the month Xanthicus, on the fifteenth day of the lunar month; four hundred and thirty years after our forefather Abraham came into Canaan, but two hundred and fifteen years only after Jacob removed into Egypt. It was the eightieth year of the age of Moses, and of that of Aaron three more. They also carried out the bones of Joesph with them, as he had charged his sons to do."

Isarel Wanders 40 years  -   Creation Year: 2453
Later, Joshua is 40 (Joshua 14:7), the spies give an evil report and everyone is forced to wander for 40 years, Numbers 14:33.

The Jewish Comentary, the Mishna, records that the people believed the evil report of the spies and mourned all night in fear. They turned against Moses and the two faithful spies, Joshua and Caleb (the only two from Egypt that entered the promised land). (Ta'anit 29a says it happend on the 9th of Av, Numbers 14:1-10 just records the curse from the Lord and the revolt against Moses and not the date.) This event started their 40 year wandering in the desert.

1st year Joshua is a judge only, for the next 25 years, until his death at 110, Joshua 24:29. Why do I make the distinction? Because this is the end of the 1st year Joshua was a Judge and the end of their journey to the promise land, and the warring to make a home for themselves. Their journey was over and they had rest. This is the start of the clock for I Kings 6:1. See from here to Solomon's 4th year of reign is exactly 480 years. If you read I Kings 6:1 you'll see that it doesn't say from the Exodus to Solomon's 4th year, it says "...after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt...". You could take it as being from the Exodus, but when you do this Judges study you'll see that it was closer to 590 years, again forcing you to choose to believe scripture or not.

Until Samson, the times of the Judges is chronologically in order, but some do over lap, meaning having more than one judge at the same time. This will be pointed out when we get there.

Saddly, right after Joshua died, Israel didn't remove (utterly destroy) the inhabitants and some were found living among Israel, which lead them to going after strange gods (Judges 2:11-12), so God sold them into servitude. Judges chapter two is a summary of all the judges and the evils of Israel and their cycle of destruction.

Servitude, Philistines, Judge Eli, Judge Samson, and part of Prophet Samuel, Judges 13:1

Here is another break from tradition. This is the last mention of anything concerning judges until I Samuel. From here to David it can get rather muddy, but I believe that with the given evidence (scripture), this time frame matches Eli, Samson, Samuel and Saul. We've seen that judges can over lap and the fact that all these mentioned are in a separate book, as well as the lack of time given (except what is given - meaning the ark for 20 years in Kirjathjearim, the age and death of Eli, the absence of the age of Saul and Samuel, and any dates linking them to David) leads to the idea that they are not connected to the other judges, other than Eli. Furthermore, I believe that to add Samson, Eli and the 40 years of the Philistines into 80 years on top of 40 years for Samuel, contradicts scripture. This method of linking them all to the same 40 years, at this time, is the only way ALL verses fit without disregard to other scriptures.

Note: Not all of Samuel's years are in with Eli's, just most.

Eli is judge for these next 40 years starting at age 58. Samson is deliverer during this timeframe for 20 years - fyi, deliverer and judge is the same.

Samuel serves with Eli, I Samuel 2:18, 26.

Saul anointed as King (?)...  -   Creation Year: 2920
At some time, Saul is anointed King, then later becomes king, the Kingdom is taken away, and given to David, who is anointed, but not made King for a while. Like Saul, no dates are given in scripture.

Now I know of Acts 13:21, but remember Samuel's time is included and because of the ark being in Kirjathjearim for 20 years from Eli's death to David's reign, well that doesn't leave enough time for 40 years to pass to be attributed to Saul. In fact one Jewish site stated that Saul reigned only 2 years. The fact is, scripture doesn't say. Furthermore, since Josephus isn't scripture, he's not perfect, often wrong when dealing with numbers. I believe this is because even at his time he was influenced by the errors of Claudious Ptolomey.

I believe this because of the verse before it (Acts 13:20) states that the 450 years were "until Samuel," meaning that Samuel's years were not included in with the time of the Judges. I believe that the 40 years is attibuted to Samuel which overlap Eli and Saul and David. I know that it's a stretch but Scipture is without error and to give Saul 40 years reign contradicts I Samuel 7:2 and I Chronicles 13:5-6 which shows that from the death of Eli to David's first year of reign was only 20 years.

Note: this is just a mention of activities and not inteded to be attributed to this year. Scripture only mentions this event and not the timeframe.

Creation Year: 2974
Jewish Year: 2758
Western Year: 1003 BC

David dies and Solomon reigns in his stead, I Kings 2:12.

This year is the "about" 530 years from the Exodus per the summary of Paul in Acts 13. The Exodus was in Creation Year 2453 to David's death in this year, Creation Year 2974, is 521 years.

The years of "about forty years" (Acts 13:18), "about the space of four hundred and fifty years" (Acts 13:20) and "by the space of forty years" (Acts 13:21) add up to "about" 530 years. 3 "abouts" and 8 years difference, works for me.

Why does this work for me? Well, it's simple, if Paul didn't know the exact dates of each event mentioned, and scripture didn't spell it all out, the "abouts" is all we're going to get. With all the dates presented here stopping and starting in January (program limitation), one must keep in mind that some events happen in quick seccession and others take time to change. This "wiggle room" is a given, even in scripture, hence the usage of "about".

Though you may not agree with the individual judge times, or the reign length of Saul, to have all these verses agree shows that this scenario is very close to actual events. So now you understand why I chose to count from Joshua's 5th year (they rested from war - Acts 13:19 and Joshua 14:10) to the 4th year of Solomon and beleive I Kings 6:1 that it was 480 years, because it was, exactly, not "about". After resting in the land from way, Creation Year 2498, to Solomon's 4th year of reign, Creation Year 2978, equals 480 years exactly.

These secular kings mentioned here have their year of accession added. The Jewish kings had no accession years added to their years, usually. This is very important to remember.

Azariah King of Judah  -   Creation Year: 3175
Creation Year: 3175
Jewish Year: 2959
Western Year: 802 BC

In Jeroboam II 27th year, II Kings 15:1, (11 as co-regent, 16th of solo reign) I believe this instead of an interregnum for Israel because if Azariah was too young as some claim, why didn't he start when he was 8 years old as Josiah did? The answer, Jeroboam was consort with his father. Also to put an interregnum in Israel would have made the interregnum for Judah after Jeroboam 22 years instead of 11, which is still an amazing length of time. The problem is that scripture doesn't provide the age of Zachariah when he took the throne.

Azariah (Uzziah) being 16 years old, ruled 52 years, II Kings 14:21.

This is the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam's partnership in the kingdom with his father, who made him consort at his going to the Syrian wars. It is the sixteenth year of Jeroboam's sole monarchy.

Creation Year: 3213
Jewish Year: 2997
Western Year: 764 BC

NOTE  -   Creation Year: 3214
Creation Year: 3213
Jewish Year: 2997
Western Year: 764 BC

Note: This is a perfect example where the counting of one's reign must be explained. To say that Menahem reigned 10 years might mean that he reigned 9.5 years to 10.5 years in one convention or it might even mean that he reigned 10 to 10.9 years in another convention. Similary the 39th year of Azariah might mean that Azariah had been reigning for slightly more than 38 years to slightly less than 39.0 years - at least this is how we would normally interpret the English (the first year being from 0 to 1, etc.) and perhaps this is also true of the Hebrew. Similarly the 50th year of Azariah might mean that he had been reigning between 49 and 50 years. Therefore we can say that: 38.9 + 10.5 = 49.4 which is the 50th year. This problem is unavoidable with digital/approximate information and this is perhaps compounded by the fact that the spreadsheet is digital - for example the events between different rows on the spreadsheet would normally be taken to be spaced 1 year apart but in some cases (such as when a son takes over from his father) the events may only be one day apart but they nevertheless will occur is separate rows.

The Talmud states too in Yoma, fol. 38, col. 2, "If a king be crowned on the twenty-ninth of Adar (the last month of the sacred year), on the morrow--the first of Nissan--it is reckoned that he commences his second year, that being the new year's day for royal and ecclesiastical affairs."

Pekah killed 150,000 in one day and took 200,000 back to Samaria, II Chronicles 28:6, Oded the prophet told him to send them home, he did.

Isaiah foretells the destruction of Ephraim, Isaiah 7:1, fulfilled 62 years later when Esarhaddon King of Assur put people in Israel instead of the Jews Ezra 4:2.

Josephus says this came 140 years before the destruction of the Temple, Book 11, Chap 1, para 2 (6 years off, but then Josephus is wrong about a lot of numbers - compare scripture account of the returning people from Babylon and his numbers.)

Hezekiah had the priests cleanse the house of the Lord the 1st of Nisan and finished on the 16th having sanctified the Temple in his 1st year, II Chronicles 29:3.

When Hezekiah calls Israel to join Judah in Jerusalem for the Passover, they came, but the priests were not ready so they kept the Passover in the 2nd month instead of Nisan, II Chronicles chapter 30, because there were too few priests, of the remnant of Israel they should come, II Chronicles 30:6, II Kings 15:29.

Judah was in doom of that of Israel, but Hezekiah asked the king of Assyria how much not to destroy them. Then Hezekiah gave him all the silver of the house of the Lord and cut off the gold from the Temple doors or pay him, II Kings 18:13-16.

Sabbatical Year  -   Creation Year: 3270
Creation Year: 3270
Jewish Year: 3054
Western Year: 707 BC

II Kings 19 and 20 have 3 very important issues: God did not wish the line of kings to continue but for Hezekiah's cry, He gave him 15 more years. This was also when the sun went back 10 degrees as a sign he'd be healed.

The King of Assyria told he'd destroy Jerusalem. Hezekiah ran to the Lord and Isaiah said God would defend Jerusalem for His sake, and killed 185,000 men of Assyria with an angel. II Kings 18:35-37, Isaiah 37:36-38, Sennacherib king of Assyria then left to go home and was murdered by his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer and they escaped to Armenia and Esarhaddon his son reigned. The army was destroyed 14 Nisan (During Passover).

It is at the end of the "sign" time that I believe that the angle of the Lord killed the 185,000 men of war on 14 Nisan, Passover of Hezekiah's 15th year.

The 15th year was the year of the sun going back 10 degrees and the year Hezekiah was healed by God of whatever fatal boil he had (cured by a fig paste), on the 13th of Nisan.

Sabbatical Year (II Kings 19:29) I know this because in a Sabbatical year there's no planting, but they can reap whatever comes up. Furthermore, this is a Jubilee cycle because they were not allowed to plant the 2nd year (the year of Jubilee) either.

II Kings 25:8-10 "...in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the **nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon..."

** Zedekiah's 11th year and Nebuchadnezzar's 19th is also his 18th because Nebuchadnezzar's anniversary had taken place. Nebuchadnezzar took the throne in May/June and 9 AV 3174 was July 29th, 587 BC so both 2nd Kings and Jeremiah agree. (See the study on the amazing events that happened to Israel on 9 Av of various years.)

9th day 4th month famine prevailed.

The end of the kings in Judah until Zerrubabel.

Note: The temple is destroyed (in the process of being destroyed) on 9 Av 3174 (29 July 587 BC) and the 2nd temple was destoryed on the same day 656 years apart on 9 Av, 3830 (4 August 70 AD)

Nebuchadnezzar burned the temple 11th year of Zedekiah and took the remnant to Babylon. Jeremiah 44:30 states that God gave Pharaoh Hophra and Zedekiah to Nebuchadnezzar.

** Jeremiah 52:29 says in 18th year of Nebuchadnezzar (his 18th year was Zedekiah's 11th year), he took 832 people to Babylon.

Ezekiel 26:1 prophecy's against Tyrus via Nebuchadnezzar (11th year, 1st day of the month - but the month isn't given, but possibly Tishri.)

Destruction of the 1st temple, 29 July 587 BC (9 Av 3174) - Actually from 7th of Av to 10th, II Kings 25:8-10, Jeremiah 52:12-13 because the fire continued from the seventh day to the tenth.

In Daniel 5, Belshazzar promised to make Daniel the 3rd ruler. Why 3rd? Because he was co-regent with Nabonidus his father, making Belshazzar 2nd king, like Pharoah to Joseph, Genesis 41:39-43.

Cyrus takes Babylon  -   Creation Year: 3439
Creation Year: 3439
Jewish Year: 3223
Western Year: 538 BC

Cyrus the Persian took Babylon at 62 Daniel 5:30-31, this is his accession year for Babylon. Note: Cyrus and Darius are the same person here even though there are 2 "Darius" in scripture, however Darius the King's riegn isn't for another few years.

Jeremiah 27:6-7 is fulfilled.

Because Cyrus read of himself in the book of Isaiah (Isaiah 44:26-28 Isaiah 45:1-5 - which is not only a fulfillment of prophecy, but it tells us how he got into the city of Babylon, by drying up the rivers, which is historically, exactly what they did, and walked under the city gates!), he allowed the Jews to return home (II Chronicles 36:22-23), but according to Ezra 2:64-70 only 42,360 and 7,337 servants returned from Babylon, (Josephus has a different number which shows that he's not scripture) which isn't much concidering how well they prospered.

(50th year since the desctruction of the Temple.)

Cyrus comes and takes over Babylon and rules 9 years (538 - 529 BC) Ezra 1:1, all of Israel can return to build the house of God, 49 years after the destruction of the temple.

Jeshua - rebuilding temple  -   Creation Year: 3440
Creation Year: 3440
Jewish Year: 3224
Western Year: 537 BC

Jeshua starts rebuilding the temple.

Their 2nd year of freedom Jeshua (Yeshua in Hebrew - Jesus in English) set about to rebuild the temple! Jeshua was head of the ninth priestly order (Ezra 2:36) ; called also Jeshuah (I Chronicles 24:11). A Levite appointed by Hezekiah to distribute offerings in the priestly cities (II Chronicles 31:15). The son of Jozadak, and high priest of the Jews under Zerubbabel (Nehemiah 7:7, 12:1, 12:7, 12:10, 12:26)

From 1 Tishri on they offered burnt offerings and freewill offerings to the Lord.

Ezra 3 says they built up an alter to God in the 7th month and kept the Feast of Tabernacles - odd that this is the first feast kept, Jesus' earthly birthday.

Ezra 3:12 says that after the foundation was set, many that remember Solomon's temple wept bitterly (supposedly because it was smaller?) This also shows that the length of time wasn't 70 years from destruction to rebuilding of the temple because if they were children during Solomon's temple they would not have gotten so emotional, but 60 or 70 year old men would, being 20-30 when captured.

On Elul 1 came the word of the Lord to Haggai, Kislev 24 the foundation is complete and God says remember this day, Haggai 2:10-18. 70 years from Destruction of Temple, on 24 Shevat Zechariah had a wonderful vision from the Lord. **Zechariah 1:12-17, Av (9th month) was the end of the 69th year and they were talking in the 11th month, the beginning of the 70th year. Haggai 1:13-14 in the 2nd year of Darius they were "fired up" by Haggai to continuing rebuilding the temple. Haggai 2 asks if anyone is left that remembers the former glory of Solomon's Temple. Zecheriah, in the 11th month (Shevat) on the 24th day he received the word of the Lord and saw a vision of angels and the Lord Himself. The Lord was angry that the heathen were at peace with His temple in ruins. The very fact that the Lord Himself brings up this point and the fact that 70 years is specifically mentioned shows that the "70 years" started at the destruction of the place His name dwells until this year, the 2nd year of Darius. Finally, for those that say that Ezra and Nehemiah's time was the same, I remind them of Nehemiah 13:6 when it shows that Nehemiah had returned to Persia, nothing says that he didn't do this several times. So he could have gone with Ezra the first time, and returned. We don't know, but since he was the King's cup bearer, it may have been a condition of the continued work that Ezra was doing.

This is deduced by 1BC/1AD was the 4th year of the 194th Olympiad.

194.4 OL - 184.4 OL = 10 OL * 4 = 40 years + 1BC = 41 BC - 15 = 56 BC.

Perfect again! God is so wonderfully accurate in His word..

This is deduced by 1BC/1AD was the 4th year of the 194th Olympiad.

194.4 OL - 184.4 OL = 10 OL * 4 = 40 years + 1 BC = 41 BC - 18 = 23 BC.

194.4 OL - 184.4 OL = 10 OL * 4 = 40 years + 1 BC = 41 BC - 18 = 23 BC - 1 = 22 BC.

46 year Temple count  -   Creation Year: 3954
Creation Year: 3955
Jewish Year: 3739
Western Year: 22 BC

194 Olympiad, 4th year is year 1 BC to 1 AD according to Wikipedia.
194.4 OL (1 BD to 1 AD) - 184.4 OL (year Herod is made king) = 10 Olympiads (OL)
10 OL * 4 = 40 years
40 Years + 1 BC = 41 BC
41 BC - 18 (18th year of Herod, he starts building temple) = 23 BC
23 BC - 1 = 22 BC (finished building)
22 BC + 46 = 26 AD
Year "0" doesn't exists, 1BC - 1AD is 1 year so you subtract 1. 26 AD - 1 = 25 AD.

This type of complication is why I use the Jewish calendar:
22 BC = 3739
3739 + 46 = 3785
3785 = 25 AD.

John 2:19-21 "Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body."

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger."

Herod dies after 13 March 4 BC (Julian) and before the Passover, 11 April 4 BC (Julian).

King Herod had to have died after Jesus was born because of the Wise Men. Josephus says that Herod died shortly after a lunar eclipse (that fell on a fast day) but before the Passover (14 Nisan at sundown) Antiq. 17:6:4-5 and 17:9:3.

I turned to NASA to get a list of all lunar eclipses during this timeframe (9BC - 1BC) that were visible from Jerusalem. I found one eclipse that fell on a fast day. 14 Adar II 3757 (13 March 4 BC).

Why this one? Well because of the fast day, that Josephus mentioned. The ONLY eclipse that fell the night of a fast day was the Fast of Esther, 13 Adar II 3757 (12 March 4 BC). Days change at Sundown in a Jewish calendar instead of midnight. From this date to 1 Nisan 3757 (29 March 4 BC) Herod had to have died. Jesus would have been about two years 5 months old at the time of Herod's death. (See study)

Pontius Pilate was the sixth Roman procurator of Judea, and under him our Lord worked, suffered and died, as we learn not only from Scripture, but from Tacitus (Ann. xv. 44). 15th year of Tiberious  -   Creation Year: 4001
Creation Year: 4001
Jewish Year: 3785
Western Year: 25

Jesus starts His ministry. Luke being a Gentile would have known what year Tiberious started his reign - his co-regency, which is why people get confused with Tiberious taking the throne in 14 AD because that's when Augustus died without a child. Luke 3:1.

This is the only place that this is mentioned in scripture. There is also a lot of debate on this point, but I've found out that after Tiberius won his military victory in Illyricum (Germany) in 9 AD he was made ruler over the military and in 10 AD was made co-regent with Cesar Augustus so that when he died Tiberius wouldn't be rejected as ruler - not being the blood of Augustus. Luke wasn't a Jew, but a Roman Gentile and would have known this. Tiberius ruled from 14-37 AD yet it is this year, year 25 AD that Luke says is his 15th year of reign, his co-reign. This is accurate as Tiberius took the co-regency in the year 10 AD + 15 = 25 AD. This fits perfectly with the almost 3 year ministry of Christ and Him dying in the year 27 AD!

Furthermore, Pontius Pilate was the sixth Roman procurator of Judea, and under him our Lord worked, suffered and died, as we learn not only from Scripture, but from Tacitus (Ann. xv. 44). Pilate was appointed in the twelfth year of Tiberius, 22 AD, not 26 AD as reported in modern books. This is shown as fact by the mention of him being the ruler of Judea in Luke 3 when Jesus was baptized by John in 25 AD.

Pressured by his barons, the Church and possibly his mother, he announced the expulsion of all the Jews. By November 1 approximately 4,000 had fled, mostly to France. The Jews had to pay their own passage. They were allowed to take movables (i.e. clothing). A number of Jews were robbed and cast overboard during the voyage by the ship captains. The Jews did not return to England until 1659. This was the first national expulsion of the Jews. (England was one of the only centralized and national monarchies of that time.)

James I is crowned King of England. Contrary to slanderous charges, he was a Godly man who translated his own private versions of the books of Psalms and Revelation (not included in the King James Bible) The work of Sir Francis Bacon flourished in the court of King James. Bacon rejected the pagan philosophy of Aristotle, and greatly advanced science through his system of inductive methodology, thus paving the way for modern science and technology. False charges of impious behavior against James I are attributable to viscous rumors spread by his political enemies. The king survived an assassination attempt by Catholic Jesuits in the failed "Gunpowder Conspiracy".

King James Bible published - sanctioned for Church of England worship services, although neither church nor government banned the use of other Bibles. The KJV gained immediate popularity among the common people of all fundamentalist congregations and came to be called the 'Authorized Version'. It was simply referred to as 'the Bible' or the 'common English Bible' until modern times, and powerfully spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the globe. It took seven years to translate. Psalms 12:6

The Wikipedia Encyclopedia states this:"The King James Version (KJV) is an English translation of the Holy Bible, commissioned for the benefit of the Church of England at the behest of King James I of England. First published in 1611, it has had a profound impact not only on most English translations that have followed it, but also on English literature as a whole. The works of famous authors such as John Bunyan, John Milton, Herman Melville, John Dryden, and William Wordsworth are replete with inspiration apparently derived from the King James Version. Bibles from the English Revised Version to the New American Standard Bible, the Revised Standard Version, and the New King James Version are revisions of its text; it has deeply influenced Bibles such as the New International Version that do not claim to be revisions of its text.

"Though often referred to as the Authorised Version (AV) or the Authorised Standard Version (ASV), it was never officially sanctioned by the English monarchy or the clerical hierarchy of the Church of England. It is no longer in copyright in most parts of the world but is under perpetual Crown copyright in the United Kingdom. The King James Version, despite its age, is largely comprehensible to the average reader today. It is considered to be an instrumental founding block of modern English, and remains one of the most widely-read literary works from its time."

Haym Solomon (1740-1785) was an astute merchant and banker and succeeded in accumulating a huge fortune, which he subsequently devoted to the use of the American Government during the American Revolution. For example, he negotiated all the war aid from France and Holland, endorsing and selling bills to American merchants.

He was the paymaster-general of the French military forces in the early times of the United States. It is asserted that more than $100,000 he advanced was never repaid. He lent the young United Sates government about $600,000, and at his death about $400,000 of this amount had not been repaid. This was irrespective of what he had lent to statesmen and others while performing public duties and trusts. Jacob Bader Marcus wrote in Early American Jewry that the sum owed to Saloman was $800,000.

Solomon came to New York in 1772 and joined the Sons of Liberty. He was a brilliant financier and one of George Washington's personal friends. in 1776 he was captured and sentenced to death by the British, but he bribed his jailer and escaped to Philadelphia. It was during this period of incarceration where he contracted tubercolosis.

During the American Revolution, Solomon went to France and raised an additional 3.5 million British pounds from the Sassoon and Rothschild banking houses and families. He spoke eight languages. When Solomon was in France he passed himself off as a French diplomat.

During the War of 1812, (1812-1815) the British military attacked Washington D.C. The best known of these destructive raids was the burning of public buildings, including the White House, by Admiral Sir George Cockburn and General Robert Ross. The expedition was carried out between August 19 and August 29, 1814. On the 23rd, a doctor invited the commanders in for a meal. After they left for their campaign, they were attacked. They blamed the doctor and took him to their ship as a prisoner. On the 24th, the inexperienced American militia who had collected at Bladensburg, Maryland to protect the capital were soundly defeated, opening the route to Washington. President James Madison was forced to flee to Virginia, and American morale was reduced to an all-time low. In an act of defiance, Dolly Madison, the first Lady, prepared a meal for the advancing army, complete with the best dishes. While the army feasted, she made off with the portrait of the first president, President George Washington. When they finished eating, they torched the President's home. Later the building was whitewashed to cover the scorched marks on the outer walls and pillars resulting the famous naming of the building - the White House.

During this time of great sorrow, the Lord came to Washington's rescue. While the British where burning all the public buildings a hurricane hit extinguishing the fires. Because of the hurricane, a tornado formed right over the British army killing more than the Americans could.

The British also attempted to attack Baltimore by sea on September 13, but were unable to reduce Fort McHenry at the entrance to Baltimore Harbor. On September 12, a young lawyer went to the command ship to request the release of his doctor friend. Having secured his friend's release, he found they could not leave because they knew of their whereabouts. As a result, from the deck of the command ship, watching the defense of the fort inspired the American lawyer Francis Scott Key to write a poem that became "The Star-Spangled Banner," the national anthem of the United States. Mary Pickersgill had sewed an oversized American flag in anticipation of the British attack on the fort commissioned by the fort's commander. Today that very flag hangs in the American History Museum in Washington D.C.

I can't help but see the hand of God in all of this and the single verse that comes to mind is Isaiah 37:35 "For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake." I know that this is talking about Jerusalem, but even Haym Salomon believed that the U.S. was destined to save or aid in a future Israel. He was one of the most influential financial help to the U.S. in its war of Independence.
